"Lovely staff shockingly poor room"

Staff very friendly. the morning chef was very friendly and helpful.

The room was very poor. We had to ask smokers to move from the door to or room each night. The shower only worked if you turned the basin sink tap on first. Mold around shower and the noise from the pub and staff at night was terrible. The photos showing the room when I booked don’t reflect the reality of what we got. I travel every week with my business and have stayed in many hotels, this room ranked as one of the worst. Sorry

Great little pub in a prime location if you are visiting Amersham old town. Staff were very friendly and our stay was excellent

Only criticism would be noise levels from adjacent rooms/outside courtyard . During our stay there was a 40th birthday group staying at the same time who congregated in the courtyard outside the room and were talking loudly till the early hours. Probably a one off but did impact sleep a little

"Icy cold unheated bedroom , unable to sleep, avoid"

A pretty stable conversion with uninsulated rural walls and roof. Ground floor, next to bar courtyard. Very nice breakfast cook, and good 'full English' set breakfast. Centre of town.

It was UNHEATED except for 2 hours an evening. Owner promised heating would be turned on , NOT DONE. No spare blankets. En suite ICY. Never been so bitterly cold and utterly miserable.

Poor cleaning. Room & furniture dated. Bathroom inadequate, shower not clean nor on the wall. No sink plug & mouldy bathroom without a proper door. Noisy in room as above the bar. No parking.

Location and breakfast

The cleanliness is disgraceful, mouldy in room, windows and the bathroom is disgusting. Needs a complete renovation. Mould everywhere The bed cover was thin and barely enough to cover two people. No parking Noisy on the road, no double glazing or door anti draft. No heating on , asked at the bar and it eventually came on, nothing in the morning so very cold and no extra blankets For the cost and where it is the rooms should be clean and fresh.
