Tamarind Reef Resort Spa & Marina

The ocean was right at our doorstep, we kept the deck door open at night to let it lull us to sleep. The staff was incredibly kind, friendly, and helpful. Our stay was in mid August, and it was not crowded at all during the time. Quiet, cozy, no rush, tucked away atmosphere. Lots of wildlife on land and in the ocean. Besides various fish, I saw a stingray and a few lobsters while snorkeling like 50 meters from the beach. You can borrow a sea kayak and life jackets on receiption for free. The gym is not big, but has a nice selection of machines.

The area is virtually non-walkable. You need a car if you want to get anywhere outside the resort. And if you rent one, be aware that the island drives left-side, like Japan or Britain. There's no Uber service in the area either.

They were bed bugs. I woke up with a lot of bites in my stomach. awful!

Trying to call a taxi and the receptionist was no help. Now I have a $100 deducted from my account. I don't know why and have had zero response to my email!

had an amazing beach with so many different animals to see on land and in the water. if you’re spending time outside of the resort and not much here this is the perfect place for you.

few things in our room were broken like the blinds didn’t go up and the shower door didn’t have a stopper so the room got wet. also did not have a small kitchen like we thought, but had a microwave also without plates or utensils. lot of rust inside the room and outside as well.

I definitely do not recommend this hotel. There’s no room service they never refill the soap or shampoo, or the towels. The beach is very bad and not good for swimming. There are roosters singing all around from 4 am to 7 am if you like to rest and sleep it is impossible. Also there’s cockroaches in the room. There’s better places to stay on this beautiful island.

La ubicación muy bien, no incluía el desayuno. La habitación es cómoda aunque necesitaba un poco más de limpieza en el baño. No sentí olor de limpieza en el cuarto. El concepto del hotel es buena.

El restaurante no le daba prioridad a los hospedados. El balcón durante la estadía sucio y con muchas hojas. El estacionamiento se hacía dificultuoso por las actividades de afuera.

They were very nice

Located directly on the waterfront. Although rocky, there is direct access to a beach. The restaurant on site has pretty good food and the bartenders are wonderful. The room is big with a kitchenette if you are in to cooking. The bed is comfortable and the AC is cold. Housekeeping left plenty of towels and washcloths. There's a gym, spa and pool on-site for your convenience. For the price I would definitely stay here again.

Far from everything, taxies are expensive.
