Trinco Blu by Cinnamon

Stay at hotel pleasant. Staff was mostly helpful. Hotel right at the beach, with a nice clean beach. However a lot of dogs and crows around. Traditional fishing right at the hotel beach (public beach) so a nice touch, but blocks part of the beach for an hour twice a day.

Very over priced! this is a three star hotel at a push very tired. Having said that it has a great location and staff.

I shopped around a lot before getting this deal. They won't let me mention the rate but it was about the same rate as a hotel on Nilaveli beach but much, much better. Two years ago, we stayed in a hotel opposite pigeon island dive site and had numerous issues with cleanliness and a colony of insects came in to the room after dark which made for a restless night for my daughter. Trinco Blu had no bug problems. Though it's not on the famous Nilaveli beach, its location has other advantages. There are about half a dozen cafes and restaurants within 1 KM of the hotel, so we had dinner out both nights. It was so much cheaper than the hotel dinner buffet and the food was great (pls read reviews on TripAdvisor). The breakfast buffet at Trinco Blu was included in our room rate and was an exceptional value for money. The air conditioning was a plus. Typically, in many beach hotels in Sri Lanka, the air conditioning does not cool well but there was no such problem at Trinco Blu. Their pool is not the biggest but who needs a jumbo pool when the ocean is a few yards away. Please note that online hotel rates fluctuate a great deal but you can get a great deal if you're patient and if you're traveling during the low season (May-September). I got a very good rate and this hotel was an excellent value for the money I paid.

Loved our stay here. Highly recommend dining at the 'Crab' restaurant. Beautiful pool and beach and staff were very helpful and friendly.

Good hotel on the beach though not exclusive. All rooms have a view of the sea. Good facilities and choice of food. Easy check in/out.

Good value with the discounted rate. Comfortable room close to the beach with good pool and buffet facilities. Cocktails and crab restaurant not life changing and wifi was not the quickest. Overall good stay.

When we arrived to hotel we had to wait one and half hours to check in.( till 3:30 pm) rooms were not ready even though we booked earlier and call them same day morning. In side the Shower cubical is smell bad. Room services is too late. Probably short staff. Location is good

VERY OVER-RATED hotel...when we checked in, the receptionist said that the Cinnamon group had purchased this "5-Star" hotel...REALLY...hardly 5-Star...The room was closer to 2-3 Star...very outdated, unfinished bathroom...had to have maintenance fix the drain, which took 45 minutes at 2100 hours, etc. I'd hardly recommend this hotel...ever...WAY OVER-PRICED!
