Ambassador Thermal Motel

The motel is in a great location and the mineral pool is a nice bonus. Our room smelled strongly of cleaning chemicals when we entered, the shower was mouldy and the carpet old.

Great location, handy to all local eateries, Waiariki Spa (next door), Government gardens, Polynesian Spa and the lake. The lakefront is absolutely stunnning! Good value for money, you get what you pay for. Pools are a bit shabby but still serves its purpose. Needs to revise security as open to public, perhaps guest laundry should be in a more secure facility as anyone can come off the street and access. Warning, do not leave laundry next to the machine, if you are waiting to use the machine, take your things to your room with you if you don’t want your items nicked. Iyky lol. Other than that, good stay, lovely staff and I would stay again due to location. Cheers

The staff wer really nice and welcoming, rooms wer cleaned each morning, the location was ideal only a short walk to restaurants, would def come back again we thoroughly enjoyed our stay thankyou so much

Our unit was very much overdue for a refresh. Blinds were damaged and repaired with duct tape, fly pooh on door and window frames (considering the dust as well, had been there a while), greasy marks running down the walls and stained bedding. We attempted to discuss with reception but the door was locked so despite paying for 3 nghts, we left after 2 hours. I had no confidence in their ability to provide anything better, if they thought it was okay to rent this unit out in the condition it was in.

Good overnight stay close to intercity bus station and shopping/food places.

Booked a 1 bedroom unit for 3 nights. Stayed 3 hours until we found new accommodation. Stained linen on beds, something running down the walls, oven was filthy, old fly pooh, peeling paint. Went to return the key and office was locked, so unable to discuss. But as they considered this unit was okay to rent out I had little faith in them having anything better to offer.

Close walking distance to city centre and eating places. Staff friendly. Facilities are clean but slightly oldish and needs a paint.

Staff was warm and welcoming. Johns gave us a bigger room than we reserved and even helped us carry our suitcases up to our room. Property looks like your typical family run motel so there's a bit of quirkiness to it. Spa tub was the hottest hotel/motel one we've ever been in which was wonderful! We didn't try the other 2 pools
