Citrus Hotel Cheltenham by Compass Hospitality

The Citrus Hotel does not benefit from an attractive presentation. It is very dated and so are the rooms. Our room was clean. It was an unusual colour with many shades of pink. However, it was large. It's hard to make a dated room look clean, but there had been some effort. I would recommend some air freshners so your senses are getting some pleasant aromas. The communal areas in the hotel are particularly tired, and many surfaces did look grubby. This is easily fixed with some consistent routine cleaning. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is very good value for money. The town had much to offer with bars, restsurants, and eateries.

2 way lighting only working by the door. No anti-slip mat in the bath liked:- provision of soaps/shampoo. quietness.

Hotel is a little dated & worn but very central. Rooms are clean & comfortable. Hotel is very central & would stay again.

Bath tap dropped off as soon as water started to run, before switching to shower, it was absolutely filthy. Toilet bowl needed a thorough clean. Window sills and frames had black mold all over. The sliding bathroom door wouldn’t shut , the runners had been removed and covered by carpet. Embarrassing not having complete privacy whilst using the bathroom.Two single beds pushed together which is fine but no mattress protector just a sheet that didn’t fit which was then covered by a top sheet. Because the ‘mattress cover sheet didn’t fit it kept crumpling under top sheet…. Uncomfortable. Carpet was quite dirty. Despite the central location wouldn’t stay again. I do have photos.

Don't be put off by the outside appearance! Basic facilities providing all essentials. VERY basic price! I would absolutely recommend the Citrus for cleanliness, the friendliness and helpfulness of all the staff, and it providing exactly what it says on the tin! Right in the centre of town. Generous and delicious buffet breakfast. Special thanks to James who took the booking, and who helped us with finding out where to go on our brief stay.

Great option for a quick stay in the city. Rooms and beds were very big. There was a kettle, iron and ironing board in the room. Very close to loads of restaurants and bars, and very convenient to walk to Cheltenham city bits.

The airconditioning of room was not adequately indicated. Pillows were very hard and duvet was heavy not light and cosy. I felt overall there was not good value for money. Location was good.

Generally OK - Over priced for what is delivered

When we arrived the bath was half full of water. The bed was 2 singles beds pushed together. The tile steps looked like a swimming pool floor. Overall, was disappointed with our stay.

Our room stank of cigarette smoke. The night manager agreed but just shrugged
