Ivy House Country Hotel

Staff were excellent. Room was comfortable. Eves bar was lovely and comfortable with great friendly bar peron. Also it was nice to have two comfy chairs in room to relax in the evening.

I requested a twin-bedded room, but we were given a double Insufficient power sockets - we couldn't use the second bedside light as there was no socket The TV screen was too small The two chairs were uncomfortable The mirror above the dressing table was hung to one side, so you couldn't see in the mirror when you sat at the dressing table There was a generator or perhaps a fan (?) running in the next room all night - it was very noisy

Driveway needs work. Could do with a fan and small fridge in room.

Lovely scenery

False advertising on line. No evening meal available. Bar shut at 8. We were informed the Hotel was no longer doing evening meals but was still advertised on line a restaurant and bar meals available. Room was very hot, windows could not open and no fan available. Nobody on reception when arrived had to go and find a member of staff.

Would of been nice to have a meal at hotel instead of travelling out.

Very peaceful we hardly saw anyone whilst there. It was ideal

The hotel is no longer doing breakfast or restaurant meals which was not made clear on booking.com nor the hotel website which was very disappointing. There was no daily room service we had to ask for clean towels, tea coffee etc Room was small but ok, tv was tiny and only 1 chair and 1 bedside lamp. Hotel now doing wedding and retreat type options so not really suitable for individual guests therefore lacking in atmosphere

Comfortable and quiet

Beautiful location, the staff were cheerful and helpful. Really good value for money.

The road up to the hotel has bad potholes. The bedroom could do with at least one usb port in a electrical Socket.
