Old Thorns Golf Resort And Spa

Nice gym and spa. Rooms were of a good size and the WiFi was a good speed. Plenty of choice to eat and drink.

The TV is very old and in 2026 would be nice if it was a smart tv to allow Netflix etc.

Friendly staff in a relaxing location. Plenty of things to do and well signposted facilities. The pool was very relaxing. The sports bar has a good atmosphere and the staff were very helpful.

The only downside was our room didn’t have air conditioning and we stayed during a hot spell in May.

The location

Room was on the ground floor with only a door leading onto a public space which meant we could not have the door open during the night to let air in. No windows, very hot and uncomfortable. We managed to get a fan which hardly worked. Shower was broken, no toiletries and the toilet did not flush properly. Breakfast was bland and not very appetising. We were originally booked for two nights and thankfully only stayed the one night. Would certainly not stay there again.

1. Nowhere on the listing it said kids have time restrictions to use the swimming pool. The choice for this hotel was based on the swimming pool and opening times stated on the listing 2. WiFi didn’t work in the room. When asked for support, no clear action was taken. 3. Rooms curtains don’t really protect from the sun. Rooms bright from 5am 4. 1 fan for two bedrooms. 5. Staff didn’t care about any of it.

We had our daughter’s wedding at this beautiful hotel. The day was exceptional the staff and the venue was outstanding i would highly recommend this place to stay or go for a special occasion

First time going and will not be the last, Had an amazing over night stay, Was fantastic from the start to the end! Parking was easy even tho it was a bank holiday weekend with a few weddings, Pearl the receptionist was warm welcoming and very friendly, the facilities were amazing and I loved the steam room and sub tropical pool, The restaurant was amazing and hardly any wait time and food came out fast, The steak and double cheeseburger were amazing! Breakfast was prompt even tho we went in the busy time with loads to choose from, The rooms were huge and very clean, Highly recommend and we will definitely be back, Thank you!
