The Westin Reserva Conchal, an All-Inclusive Golf Resort & Spa

The Westin Reserva Conchal was a perfect spring break destination. The resort is clean, staff is attentive and friendly, evening entertainment is plentiful and the pool is steps away from a beautiful beach. We coordinated airport transfers and catamaran and waterfall/ zip lining excursions through Erik Garcia (blue Google shirt). Best decision. Erik did an amazing job managing every detail and was always a text away. Top notch service. My children took advantage of the table tennis and foosball tables as well as pickle ball courts and organized water polo games. We loved all of the healthy meal choices for children.. and my children loved the swim up bar. It was a fabulous week all around!

We’re towards the end of our stay but wanted to review the property while everything was fresh in my mind! The hotel grounds, staff and location are tremendous! The family pool is a little deep for my tastes but overall we’ve had a great experience! We haven’t take advantage of enough of the amenities, but the gym and numerous food options are a plus! Additionally we worked with Erik G ( google him he has a blue shirt) for both horseback riding and an ATV tour. Both of which I highly recommend! Finally Valentina from dinner tonight was tremendous!

Incredible resort! The pool and activities area was great with the kids. The food throughout the resort was great. If you’re looking for a great set of activities, reach out to Conchal Fun. We did a private sailboat sunset cruise and snorkeling, fishing, UTVs and surf lessons in Tamarindo. We would highly recommend all of them!

Some statements about our stay... We were there for the beach/pool, that's it. No interest in golfing. Besides it was way too hot for that stuff and the sun was crazy strong. Must apply sunscreen at least once per hour to be safe. First: the water - the resort is on a beautiful beach. The cove is a large area and the water was wonderfully warm. The main pool is huge. There is only one, so it better be. The water temperature here was also very nice. The pool hours state 8am to 5pm (i think) but many times the guys cleaning the pool were there long after 8am. I was there at 6am to claim chairs, so I watched the process. This is another situation where there is too much to do and not enough people. There were 4 guys cleaning every morning but the pool is way too big. 8 people would be the right number at minimum to finish by 8am open time. Second: the staff - this was hit or miss. Felt like 50% was eager to help and 50% was dreading being there. We did meet a wonderful helper named Itzel Miranda. She had the brightest smile and always eager to help. Third: the food - the reservation system during busy times isn't great. The reservation restaurants weren't that impressive. They make such a big deal to have to go through the hassle of booking a reservation that the food should be significantly better than the walk up offerings. It was not. The food was okay, the time to get food too foreverrrr, and the wait staff felt a little pushy (not enough staff and a lot of tables). The main restaurant was pretty good. It wasn't a buffet, it was more of an on-demand place with different stations (types of food). Foods here were hit or miss. Fourth: the rooms - AC in the rooms was wonderful and much needed. The room layout was confusing with a ton of dead space. These could have/ should have been desgined with a lot more efficiency. Overall: the place was decent but not worth the cost. We had a much better experience in the area around Arenal.

Traveling outside of the United States always seems to cause some form of anxiety. Costa Rica is nothing short of amazing, the airport was easily navigated the van service was excellent. Upon arrival at the Westin Reserva Conchal, we were shuttled to the Family Concierge and met with Yuliana Herrera who did an amazing things throughout the stay. Anything we needed she was always there to assist, pool, dining you name it. Also, the Assistant Manager Katherin Gutierrez always was there to ensure our experience met our high expectations. This Property is incredibly beautiful, and the Staff take it to another level. A special shout out to Samuel Hidalgo, who was responsible for the recreation Yoga, Stretching, Water Aerobics just to name a few. I have over 1100 nights with Marriott. The service and experience he provided was unparalleled to anything I have experienced. He remembered all our names and made us feel we were part of his family. This is a place I see my family returning to many times in the future.

We had the best time in Costa Rica and I'd highly recommend the Westin. Was great for family's and teenagers. Staff was great and the beach was beautiful. Rooms were a perfect size for a family of 4 including grown teenagers. I'd highly recommend a massage on the beach and look for Erik G with a blue Google shirt on right as you enter the beach. He took great care of us with transportation and booking excursions. Very reliable. All around we had a wonderful trip.

We had an amazing stay at The Westin Reserva Conchal. Beautiful beach, lush grounds filled with wildlife, and spacious, comfortable rooms. Food options were varied and high quality for an all‑inclusive, especially the à la carte restaurants and the staff were for absolutely amazing, friendly and attentive. A perfect spot to relax and enjoy a luxury Costa Rica getaway. We did several excursions and Erik G was a wonderful entrepreneur organizing our tours.

This is a wonderful resort. The grounds are so large and so beautiful. The sound of the howler monkeys is really something unusual. I was impressed by all the staff. We stayed in the Club area, and everyone was so attentive. Monica, a club concierge, worked very hard on an issue for me. We were in tower one in a suite. The club pool area, and the restaurant for breakfast were very relaxing. Thank you to all the staff at this very well run resort. It was our first time in Costa Rica and we will definitely come back to the Westin Reserva.

This was not the experience the Westin brand supposed to deliver. At arrival (family club ) when we got to our room, it smelled like mold, and not a little bit. It was a certifiable health hazard. It took 2 hours (!!!) to sort this out and would’ve been longer if wasn’t for a maintenance person (who was there doing something else) making yet another call for us. After stressful and frustrating 2+ hours, we were finally given a different room. The beach experience was disappointing - lots of garbage around (it was being picked up but still). The jet skis were being rented right there, so besides going right through where people were swimming, the constant fumes were not a pleasant experience. Lastly - as we were departing (which was shortly before noon), we were still allowed to use the property and go grab lunch, now I get a charge in my card for it for $45 for two slices of pizza. Seriously?! It was offered as complimentary service at an all inclusive hotel. All these things are just unacceptable in general, and for this price in particular.

We spent spring break at the Westin Reserva Conchal with three elementary‑aged kids, and the entire experience was nothing short of wonderful. From the moment we arrived, the hospitality and service were truly top‑notch. Every staff member we encountered made us feel welcome and cared for. The kids were absolutely delighted by the wildlife around the property — spotting howler monkeys, iguanas, and beautiful birds became part of our daily routine. Our rooms were comfortable and relaxing, a perfect retreat after long days of adventure. We booked all of our excursions with the vendors right on the beach, and they did not disappoint. One of our favorite memories was the evening horseback ride along the beach and even into the water — a magical experience for the whole family. The dads also went deep‑sea fishing with Stuart, who has fished these waters his entire life. His knowledge and passion made the trip unforgettable. The mango Stuart gave us was but far the best mango i had ever eaten! We caught groupers, tuna, and even landed a +50 lb red snapper, which was an absolute thrill. For our big group of 10, Erick K (blue google shirt) helped us arrange a full‑day jungle adventure, and it was phenomenal. We started with a swim at a waterfall, took a dip in the stunning blue river, and enjoyed cultural experiences including a nature walk where we saw viper snakes and sloths. We also learned about Costa Rica’s cocoa and coffee agriculture, which was fascinating for both kids and adults. Our guide, Verny, was exceptional. With six kids ranging from 6 to 14, safety was his (and ours) top priority, and he made sure we were always comfortable. He shared so much knowledge, never rushed us, and genuinely made the day the best it could be. He was a true ambassador for this wonderful and kind country. This was our first visit to Costa Rica, but it definitely won’t be our last. Highly recommend the Westin Reserva Conchal for families looking for adventure, relaxation, and unforgettable memories.
