Honjin Hiranoya Bekkan

With 28 guestrooms this hotel advertised as a Ryokan is very little like a traditional Japanese inn. The staff are extremely friendly and offer a degree of individual attention,but the property is in need of an overhaul - paintwork and patched carpets at least. The "futons" are merely foam mattresses which offer no support, especially for a larger person, and one should request a "double mattress" for a tolerable night's sleep . Our room also had a faint odour of rotting fish which the extractor failed to freshen up. The multi course Japanese dinner is an experience - everything was delicately presented - but to me there were too many dishes for all of them to be fully appreciated.

Wonderful place to stay! This was our first ryokan experience and it could not have been better. The staff was so attentive and helpful. The ryokan is located right on the river and it was delightful to open the doors and hear the water while drinking tea and relaxing in the room. Breakfast and dinner were both delicious. Each course was beautiful and served with love in lovely private dining rooms. We loved the baths - the women's bath in the building next door is especially nice with a cozy place to have tea after the bath.

Meget god oplevelse, var der med min datter på 15 år. Personalet , værelset og morgenmaden var perfekt. Vi brugte ikke spa faciliteter, da de var kønsopdelt.

Nice hotel, got a new experience here. Nice and warm staff. Nice room and walking friendly. U should try the public onsen. So good 😍😍😍 The Room not so big. But ok and compact. Amazing dinner , breakfast and lunch here. 😍😍😍 You can take photo outside the hotel, so many instagrammable near the hotel

Great location across the river to the old town, but close enough to the train station. Nice rooms with lots of nice features, great baths,especially the women's next door.

Superb staff - very friendly and helpful. Centrally located. Lovely onsen and spa. Good food - highly recommend the kaiseki. Overall, wonderful stay!

第3次入住，依舊服務態度貼心程度一流。 雖然酒店內部已有40多年樓齡，但清潔度很好。房間風景極好，一泊兩食體驗亦都很好。 酒店又近商店街，離鐵路站步行10分鐘左右。

A real experience with lovely staff

どこへ行くにもアクセスがいい位置にあり、街歩きに便利です。ラウンジやお部屋のベランダからは、中橋をはじめ高山の街並みと山々が見え、素晴らしい眺めでした。女性用蔵のお風呂は脱衣室が床暖房になっていて、湯上がりには囲炉裏があり、熱々のお湯を鉄釜から汲んで入れる何種類ものハーブティーなど、感激しました。何より、従業員の方々のサービスが行き届いており、とても居心地のいいお宿でした。

Our stay at Honjin Hiranoya Bekkan was the highlight of our Japanese holiday. The ryokan accomodation is unique the Japanese breakfast is amazing and the staff provide the highest standard of professional hospitality service , they are also very friendly and extremely helpful.
