Excellent staff, very professional and friendly. Room extremely clean, comfortable and high quality. Food only had breakfast, but again excellent.

Nothing prefect for our short stay

The rooms were very comfortable and well finished. The age of the building obvious with the wonky floors which added to the delight of the building. We had supper in the Resturant which was well presented and tasty. At breakfast there was a good selection of choice from the buffet and on the menu, either to pay from the menu or a £15 standard charge. Guests have priority over walk ins. All the staff were efficient and helpful. We found spaces to park in the hotel carpark but there were spaces in the square too.

The cups for tea in the bedrooms were too small.

Room was clean and comfortable. Shower was excellent. Lovely home made biscuits in room on arrival.

Service in restaurant was appalling. Not sure if hotel is understaffed or just have no idea how to organise themselves. I was the only one at breakfast but it still took 25 mins to be served avocado on toast. Later my friends met me for coffee. As I was waiting at the counter to give my order, another lady was complaining about how long she had been waiting for her order, but the member of staff answered abruptly and didn’t handle the situation well at all. I ordered 3 coffees which came after a very long wait. I then went to the bar to ask for some additional milk. She said she’d bring it over but I said I’d wait to save her the trip. However, she said she’d bring it as she had some other things to do first, so I went back to our table. Of course no milk came at all. It would have been so simple for her to have just passed me a jug of milk there and then as it was all right next to her. I will stay at the hotel again but I’ll definitely not take breakfast there and I agreed with my friends that we’ll go to coffee somewhere else in town.

Stylish interiors with lots of character. This is clearly the place to be in Shipston! Good breakfast menu though the buffet element was a little on the stingy side (tiny pot of yoghurt for everyone to share!)

No air con and not enough fans for every room, which was problematic in a heatwave. Next door's plumbing woke us up with shrieking valves/pipework. Except for the breakfast supervisor, who was charm personified, the bar/reception staff seemed quite frazzled.

Good location for visiting our family. The staff was accommodating as they lent us a fan for one of our bedrooms from the bar. Also they let us swap bedrooms when we were not happy with one of them. Good quality breakfast.

We would have liked a fan in our bedrooms as there was a heatwave.
