Hotel & Spa Poco a Poco

Well located hotel in Santa Elena, close to shops and good restaurants. It's a very steep hill into the town so be warned! Hotel is clean, breakfast superb, and staff very friendly.

We really enjoyed our stay here. Great rooms and fantastic bar area with fire pits (they give you marshmallows to toast at the bar if you want to). Cocktails to die for! The aperol margarita is a must! The birding here is also fantastic, with toucans, hummingbirds, tangers and motmots all around. We also saw a coati in the grounds and lots of agouti. Didn’t try the restaurant but the nachos were perfect. Staff are fantastic.

My husband and I had a fabulous time at Poco a Poco Hotel. The staff were all amazing. My room was decorated for my birthday. The room was clean, atmosphere was peaceful. There were beautiful walking trails on the property. Special mention for the restaurant staff especially Luis, Josue, and Joshua. The service was 5 *. They were kind, personable and felt like family. Thank you for wonderful stay.

The hotel was busy, so we received an upgrade to one of the forest rooms, which was fabulous. Enclosed private patio with a full-size hot tub! I really liked the hotel location across the road from a nice little mall and several restaurants, plus walking distance to town center. Unusual pool setup, not for sunbathing but sheltered from the wind. The general vibe was peaceful and comfortable.

The location was perfect walking distance to shopping and different food choices. The atmosphere was perfect. All the employees were very attentive and helpful. They pointed out great places to visit and things to do. Our room had a balcony and we sat outside looking at all the wildlife. We walked the property trail. It was really nice. We saw pizotes, mot-mot birds and guatusa, The staff (Roy, Lily, Alex) were eager to help identify these animals new to us. We went to Valle Escondido and the butterfly reserve at the suggestion of Josue- excelente! What a great place to visit! "Pura Vida"

Wonderful hotel with excellent staff, facilities and views. It is convenient to many of the activities in Monteverde and has an excellent included breakfast. Some nice add ons were free mini bar and one free bag of laundry. We recommend!

Comfortable room, friendly staff particular mention for Roy who was extremely helpful and friendly. The Pina Coladas were excellent, the best we have had but the seating areas very open to the elements and not enough comfortable seating in the bar area.

The hotel has been recently renovated and, in addition to a very striking entrance, offers guests a wonderful heated pool and a fabulous hot tub. I posted a photo to show the bar overlooking the pool, which allows guests to enjoy the service directly in the water. The restaurant was also a very pleasant surprise. It was a short stay (we arrived in the afternoon and left the next day before lunch), but we are extremely happy to have spent part of our time here. The hotel also features a charming trail where it is not uncommon to encounter wildlife.

This boutique hotel was perfect for our family. The breakfast buffet had many choices to meet all of our family's wants and needs. The pool & hot tub were amazing after an adventurous day in Monteverde. The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating. I would easily stay here again.

Poco a Poco Hotel is a comfortable stay with adequate rooms although we did notice a few ants. The gardens are lovely (even supplying fresh mint for those mojitos!) and the fireplace adds a cozy touch. It will be even better once renovations are complete. The location is convenient, just a few minutes’ walk from the centrum, with a nearby mall that includes an art store and a grocery store, making it easy to explore and pick up essentials. Note for tobacco users... you must walk to the street to use. There are no designated smoking areas.
