The Abbey Hotel

Really great location, right opposite the Abbey. The staff were so night on the night we checked in, sorted us out in our room and were really attentive with our dinner reservation. Also love how dog friendly it is.

The pillow, but that isn’t the biggest issue as it’s personal!

Check In wäre ab 14.00 Uhr gewesen. Um 14.45 Uhr war unser Zimmer noch nicht fertig. Als wir dann gegen 16.30 Uhr das Zimmer bezogen haben war der Boden im Bad noch nass und alles war feucht. Zudem hat es nach Hund gerochen. Es hatte auch viele Haare am Sessel. Auf der Bettdecke hatte es einen grossen braunen Fleck. Die WC Spülung geht nicht gut.

Check-in was fine, although finding a spot to park to bring our luggage in was a bit tricky. We enjoyed the cleanliness of the rooms and the fact that we had a fan for extra circulation in our room. Breakfast was great and dinner options were lovely. Enjoyed the ambience of the hotel lounge area.

Only the stairs, but these are to be expected.

De locatie was top. Tegenover het veld van de slag bij Hastings.

De slaapkamer was veel te heet en het bed te klein.

The staff are very friendly, the menu extensive and the food good. The rooms were small but nicely decorated, well equipped and clean. Room 3 at the front was noisy. The location was good for Battle but right on a very busy road.

The rooms are small and there is a steep staircase. I brought a ridiculously large case and, thank goodness, got help from the lovely staff to get it upstairs. We thought it was expensive for a small noisy room but it was August.
