The Abbey Hotel

Very convenient location opposite the abbey and it is a nice pub with friendly staff and good breakfast, but the traffic noise is loud (in the rooms facing the abbey) and the mattress had lost almost all padding on one side, the chair in the room was badly stained which would put me off returning. I know they can't do anything about the traffic noise, but they could replace the mattress and chair and provide complimentary earplugs, especially in the summer when the windows need to be open.

It was so cosy and clean, the bed were STUNNING! It was a really good stay!

This was a fun place to stay while visiting the battle field. The village was very interesting with many small shops. The room appeared to be recently renovated and staying above a pub was a fun experience. The pub itself was also excellent. Our only complaint was lack of air conditioning...which resulted in us opening a window...and listening to traffic (the road out front is very busy) All-in-all, I would strongly recommend this place to anyone visiting the area

We booked room 2 for £160, they moved us without telling us to a room at the back of the hotel for £150, but wouldn’t give back the £10 back. Apart from that everything was fine.

Great location in town and good breakfast.

We arrived on a Sunday and we’re under the impression check in was until late as posted on booking.com however we got several phone calls from staff asking when we were arriving. Upon arrival all the staff were sat at the bar staring at us. They were clearly unimpressed. Breakfast staff the following morning were very pleasant

A great rural hotel in Battle. Amazing value for money. Great breakfast included. Very nicely appointed rooms. Very convenient to get anywhere in Battle. Would highly recommend

The location, the breakfast was better than I expected

The staff were unhelpful, the room was tiny, badly kept and the price for the room was incredibly extortionate

Location is excellent. Bedroom clean and comfortable. Staff lovely. Breakfast very good. Dog friendly.

Common areas eg hall and stairs could do with a bit of a revamp. Love room 8 but the bathroom needs a chair or something to put toiletries on.
