SureStay Plus by Best Western Montrose

booked two rooms days before arrival, paid in advance. when we arrived at 9pm to check in, we were told that they over booked and they did not have our room. there were several people in line to before us and they were told the same. every hotel / motel in all surrounding areas were full. no vacancies anywhere.

Property is worn. Although beds were clean and comfortable. Ice machine was broken both days. No milk for breakfast cereal. Little annoyances, especially for the per night charge.

The good: Young man at front desk check in was extremely hard working, efficient, and definitely deserves a raise! (I hope he gets it!) I wish I knew his name to say thank you. He made a great first impression. Room was clean. Clean sheets, towels. Everything worked well: heater, tv, mini frig, coffee maker. Hot shower! Beds comfy, room quiet. Area felt safe, secure, Hot breakfast was great! Also hotel is across street from Mexican restaurant. The bad: The hotel is 2-story, but only has stairs in the lobby (NO ELEVATOR) The bathroom sink area has no counter, shelf or anything for cosmetics, etc. All in all it was a good stay.

They changed my room from king to queen, saying that is what i booked but it wasn’t. The room they gave me was terrible the air conditioner was broken and making a loud noise. Called the front desk and was told they didn’t have any more rooms but later they found one. The manager didn’t want to talk to me the next morning. I will not be staying at a Best western ever again

Property charged me for the room twice. Once thru Expedia and then once when checked in. Had to show them Expedia receipt to get the other transaction canceled but of course it will take 3-5 days to get a refund

Stayed for a week, never had cleaning staff come by at all I had to take my trash to the dumpster and get more towels myself. Hot tub was broken and the pool was too cold to be usable overall way overpriced for the level of quality and service received

Clean room but no security on outside door. Ice machine and hot tub not working. Our toilet seat did not seat properly and toilet seemed on the verge of overflowing

Staff was very accomodating by adding an extra night with no penalty. If I used Expedia I would have lost my deposit. Only one ice machine on facility and it was out of order. However staff sent some one to buy a bag for me and another guest. Sink area was very small with no place to set cosmetics. Room had sufficent outlets for chargers

Not the greatest. We tried to check-in at 3:43p and we told we couldn’t checkin until 4p or it would be an additional $20. The room was fine, but wasn’t stocked, had to go to the front desk for supplies. The hot breakfast was more like a less than adequate continental.

AC was very noisy but cooled room well. Lots of noise from hall and other rooms. No coffee at breakfast.
