"Great View with a Room that was Lacking"

6.0

The view and location of this room are wonderful. You are just steps from the plaza and many choices for dining or shopping. Our view from our quite large balcony was fantastic. The staff are also very nice and helpful. The air conditioning works great and housekeeping kept the room very clean. A nice feature is a water cooler of filtered water in the lobby that you can use to refill your personal water bottle. The historic feel of the property is also nice. The drawbacks - The room is very basic, which is usually fine for my purposes. There were some negatives though. There is no phone to call the front desk if you have an issue. Our deadbolt had to be manhandled by my husband to lock into place. The beds are small and ROCK HARD. Seriously, these beds were like boards. I'm not picky, but it was very uncomfortable. Also, the pillows are extremely lumpy. The furniture is old and could use some updating, but the real issue for me was my inability to get a good night's sleep on the uncomfortable bed. For the price point of this hotel, you could have a nicer room elsewhere in town or a very nice airbnb. The hotel is right on the beach, but actual access to the beach is complicated. You have to either walk through the independently owned/run restaurant on the property or go down to a little passage way where there is a small spa.

Very nice hotel. The location is great and every room has a fridge. There is a great grocery across the street so we bought sandwich fixings, water, snacks, etc. Beds are very firm, but that was ok with us. No hairdryer, bar soap or washcloths, but knowing that in advance, we brought our own. Very nice pool and beach area and the restaurant is very good.

Great location in the town. Nice to be on the beach. I would like better mattress and pillows but I am picky. Staff was great and the food was good. the Dive shop next to the pool was a bonus and they were awesome.

They had a fire in the restaurant, so we were not able to eat there, and we love Muelle Once. There was no water in the rooms, so we had to go to lobby to get water to brush teeth and take Dr. prescribed meds and stay hydrated. a light was out going to our third floor. Where taxis drop you off is dirty and uninviting with extra supplies stored outside. No sign to the lobby, so we walked where it could be. On a good note, the mattresses and air conditioning were excellent. The staff were quite friendly. It is not a 3 Star--maybe that rating is only because of their excellent, consistent restaurant, Muelle Once. During our stay, we were not able to eat there due to fire. I did like that they took care of restaurant staff. They were paid anyway, and food was catered for them. The location is wonderful, on the beach, and it had a wonderful pool, and one got used to it being cold.

The hotel is tired and needs some upgrades. The area is loud, nightclub across the street. The view is great so that’s a plus.

We've stayed in this hotel several times and always been very satisfied. However, in February 2025 we were particularly pleaed by the upgrades to the shower (finally, good water pressure!) and the restaurant upgrade. Another wonderful week in Puerto Morelos.

"Great location with fabulous breakfast!"

10.0

Can't beat the location of this hotel! It's right off the main square and has private, secure parking if you've rented a car. The street is busy during the day but town gets very quiet at night so we didn't have any noise issues at all. Hotel room is basic. Beds were very firm and pillows pretty lumpy but we made do. The AC was fantastic and kept room as cool as we wanted and my little girl loved lounging in front of the big TV with lots of English options for a little downtime. Our Premium room on the second floor had a big balcony and a sliding screen door that we could leave open to hear the waves crashing below. The room was spotlessly clean and the housekeepers did a fantastic job tidying it daily. We left them a tip each day and please remember to do this! The day & night staff at the front desk were lovely and helpful. The room does not have a phone, so the gentleman on night duty came to knock on our door at 4 AM to make sure we were up to depart for our very early flight! Much appreciated. We ate breakfast at the restaurant twice and it was wonderful! Delicious avocado toast, bacon, pancakes with fresh fruit, and brioche French toast that was fantastic! Coffee was hot and they refilled often and they offered almond milk, which I really appreciated. Prices were reasonable. The only drawback was that we booked original reservations with Expedia and needed to make changes after the original cancellation deadline and neither Expedia nor the hotel management allowed any flexibility in adjusting the dates, even though they were sold out and could have possibly resold those nights that we ended up having to pay for. Lesson learned to always book direct! Thanks for a great stay and we'd love to come back!
