Boulan South Beach

I've stayed at Boulan South Beach a few times and used to love the place, but the previous time I stayed was about six years ago. They used to be amazing just like the pictures you see online. Not anymore, they have gone horribly downhill since then. We stayed there for 3 nights this month, I will post some pictures and let that say it all!!!! Definitely not 4 star! Other stuff happened but I will not even get into it. I told the manager that she should inspect the rooms at least once a quarter. Hope they upgrade Boulan to what it used to be like!

This suite offered a wonderful, spacious atmosphere with a stylish modern feel. The natural daylight pouring in created a perfectly relaxed Miami vibe that we loved coming back to. While the in-room coffee situation was a bit basic, there are plenty of great spots just steps away to grab your morning cup.

The quietude of the room at night was truly impressive, especially considering the vibrant energy of the surrounding neighborhood. The overall atmosphere is refreshingly calm and unpretentious, providing a peaceful retreat that feels worlds away from the hustle and bustle. It is the perfect spot for those who want easy access to the action without sacrificing a restful night's sleep.

The room was a breath of fresh air—bright, airy, and perfectly relaxed during the day. Flooded with natural light, the space had a calming energy that made it the ideal spot to unwind after a busy day of exploring. While the balcony door required a bit of a firm nudge to shut, it sealed tightly once closed, keeping the room quiet and comfortable. A truly refreshing stay!

I really appreciated the peaceful atmosphere of the room at night; it was the perfect escape. The location is unbeatable, with almost everything within easy walking distance. Even during busy hours, the hotel never felt overwhelming or crowded.

Booked king room with TV, sitting room with TV, kitchen and ocean view. Two nights was a little over $1200. First room no ocean view. Hotel is sold out but they upgraded us to PH2 (Penthouse 2). Many issues but here are some of the highlights. Booked same room to others first night so they started to enter out room while we were there. When we left asked to have toilet seat tightened - was loose. So was the one in 1/2 bath. I get up early wanted TV in other room to watch news. Other half wanted TV to watch sports late at night. TV in sitting room does not work. Front desk sends engineer. Thought it was fixed. Was not. No one answers front desk phone when you call from the room. Went to front desk and front desk argues with me it is fixed. You couldn't change the channel without error message. Three hours of people in room first morning (we left). When we returned front desk can't tell us if fixed or not. Floor to ceiling sheer in bedroom was stained on the bottom - looked like dog peed on it. Fridge shelf broken. Could not sit on couch without leaning to middle. Used kitchen chairs instead. No handles in shower. You could turn the base to turn it on but the temp side was too hard to turn so you had to take the temp it gave you ( it was a warm temp) I made a list and walked through the room with a manager. It has been over a week and nothing - the resort fee was waived ($102) and nothing else. Since we booked with third party maybe that was an issue. But I wouldn't know since no one has reached out and it has been a week. Would have moved hotels but nothing reasonable was available so we just "lived" with it.

The suite felt bright and comfortable during the day, which made working remotely feel easy. The calm atmosphere helped me stay focused and relaxed. The afternoon pool area became a little busy, so I chose quieter morning hours instead.

It felt like a smooth start to our Miami trip. The room was clean, the staff were friendly, and the location made everything feel close without being overwhelming. A comfortable and easy place to settle in.
