Hillcrest Motel

I needed a place to shelter. It was that. Not clean. Not a place I will ever stay again.

Located in a nice residential area but poorly clean, bed sheets smelling, found the floor dirty and bathroom not that cleanliness we expect for.

well, starting with the black velour bed covers [not as advertised in the photo] to the lack of stable internet; the total lack of tv service, the lack of a bedside table; the LACK of towels and basic amenities in the bathroom; the lack of a fan in the bathroom [a basic part of any motel bathroom unit]; the kitchen looked like it had seen better days; the room next to ours was filled with some car tires and various car parts; there was a couple of young men working on a car outside our room and, around 3:00am, they decided that playing loud rap music was a good idea; and, the motel itself was in various degrees of renovation, including some insulation work that was unfinished/incomplete/exposed in the hallway. So, all in all, regardless of the lower than average cost of the room, the room was NOT 'as advertised' and, had I known all that was waiting for us before we checked in...we would not have.

Horrible. Our room had no screens on windows and doors. It was extremely hot in the room and couldn’t open the windows due to bugs. The door was busted out. The door handle was broken and would only close when the deadbolt was in use. The deadbolt was flimsy and unsafe. You had to screw in the lightbulbs to have light. The light switch would turn off the fn which made the room feel like a sauna. I would skip this place. You can find something better somewhere else.

There’s no light fixture in the bathroom and no towel bars. There’s no screens in the windows or entrance door. The cable box is dangling from the wall. The stained rug is smelly and humid. There’s no light coverings for the lights on the ceiling. It does NOT look like what they show in their pictures on the website. The beds are super old and there’s planks for the box spring to hold together. The gentlemen who served me was super friendly and nice. He made me feel welcomed but the room needs a major upgrade!

Horrible room, very dirty. No amenity. Never see any motel room like this before. Won’t come back even the motel free for the stay.

This room was terrible! It was dirty and dingy. There was a broken window that had been boarded up. The screen door was all bashed in. The bed was lumpy and the sheets and pillows were stained. There were no towels in the room and the front desk worker kept leaving the property making it difficult to get anything. The chain lock on the door was broken so we felt unsafe with the little lock in the doorknob.

We did an eleven day visit to the Maritimes. This was the cheapest hotel on our trip. The price is on point for what you get. The check in was quick, easy and friendly. The water pressure & temp was perfect. The bed was not the most comfortable BUT we were on the last day before heading home and passed out quickly anyways. It was a dark and quiet room, no off smells. The room is dated but oddly, it had the better TV & channel options than many of our stays. For the budget traveller this is a great option.

Our room didn't have a window that opened to the outdoors. Instead the window looked out on a hallway that all guests had access too. Since we didn't feel safe keeping the windows or blinds open there was absolutely no air circulation in the room. Everything smelled really musty so we had to sleep on top of the covers with our own sleeping bags we had packed for camping we had done earlier, and our own pillows. Everything felt as if it had been DIYed by complete novices
