Alexander Guesthouse

This hotel is located in the heart of the city, within walking distance to all the sights. The room was just the bare minimum, but was very clean. We had a private bathroom, which was hard to find in this price range.

The location was great, the guesthouse was a little inconvenient to get to, my major problem was the noise that entered the room whenever anyone entered the building with the open atrium to all levels

Most enjoyable

Fairly basic room, quite cramped, but everything worked OK. Very convenient to old town. Initial reception service a bit abrupt, didn't offer much info about the room (a short walk to a different street) or 'tourist' info on the city.

Adequate housing for a short stay.

the hotel is in the middle of old Zurich.. so if you want absolute quiet, you may not get it. however, being jet lagged and with the help of their excellent windows, we did sleep well. the second morning, a Monday, our alarm was a drill removing cobblestone a few metres away.. but this was not the hotel's fault. people were nice, breakfast room is excellent. on our way back, we stayed there again, the room was facing the courtyard so quieter... overall a nice hotel.. pricey during weekends

Excellent location to the canal and rail station. Staff were very very helpful & relaxed. The room was servicedeach day. Restaurants in every direction, plus mini market groceries. Easy to walk every where. Cycling adjacent to the rail.Recommend to any one spending a few days in Zurich.Highly recommend

Inexpensive, basic room with no front desk in the building. You have to check in at the Hotel Alexander on a different block. But the location was good, near a lot of restaurants and pedestrian areas. Good for a one night stay before leaving for the airport the next morning. also very close to the main train station.

The bed was very comfortable The bathroom was clean and had everything you needed The room was very hot, everywhere was hot, but the air con was not really cold enough

I was travelling with my grandson. We had asked for a twin room and got a double bed. They changed this for a tiny room with two singles. It is a short walk from the station which is the only thing really in favour.
