The Cube Hotel Birmingham

When we arrived, only then were we informed that the AC wasn't working and asked if we still wanted to go ahead (we had driven over 4 hours and the concert we were watching was due to start in under an hour so we really didn't have a choice), it would have been nice if they could have contacted us a day or two prior to let us know so we could have chosen a different hotel. There were various stains all over the carpet in the room and the hallways and the shower had definitely not been cleaned properly. The TV didn't work, but we didn't figure that out until about 11pm when we returned to our room so didn't bother calling down to front desk. There was also a party or event going on on the floor above us until the early hours of the morning, which we weren't informed about except in a small bit of writing on the bottom of the sheet we were given when we checked in - again would have been nice to know prior to checking in. The rooms were extremely basic (although did have a fridge which was nice, especially considering the lack of AC) and looked very dated. The view was lovely as we were so high up. We will definitely not consider staying here again and I advise that others avoid. More expensive than a premier inn and much worse.

Restaurant was very good quality and not as expensive as we were expecting. Room was large and well equipped

No AirCon in room on a hot day. Was offered a full refund though. We decided to stay and we're given a fan ( this only circulated the hot air in our room....a small portable a/c unit would have been better. Our shower was very powerful....but had 2 settings. Very hot or scalding. After a very hot night a cool shower would have been great. TV didn't work.

The property was in a good location

We arrived on Sunday and were told that there would be no breakfast on Monday with no explanation as to why. We were told we would be refunded for the breakfast but were only emailed a compensation figure of £20. A matter came up at home which meant we needed to take an earlier train the next day I asked if we could cancel breakfast to which i was told no because i booked through Booking.com. Also asked for tbags as only given earl grey and we did not receive them.

NO Air conditioning and as your on the 25th floor no windows that open if you like a sauna then it's for you, Fan put in room but all it did was circulate hot air. To be fair when we complained we were guaranteed a full refund. decor is outdated and the bathrooms need looking at 4 stars It is not !!

Tastefully decorated, modern. Very clean & comfortable rooms. Friendly staff & excellent breakfast

The air conditioning system was broken so the hotel was very hot but they explained this on check in & offered a fan for the room which was promptly delivered. The fan made the stay more comfortable

Location was great. Staff were friendly. Breakfast was nice. Room was clean. Check out time was excellent.

The weather was very warm and the air con wasn’t working. Although I was informed of this on check in and a fan was provided. The TV in my room wasn’t working (wouldn’t pick up signal) which was really disappointing and inconvenient for me.

Perfect location, short walk to station and free upgrade due to issue with air con. Great service
