Location, room size and shower were great.

The bed was outdated, creaky and could feel the springs. The room was very hot, there was a portable fan which helped but didn't solve the issue. For a 4 star hotel I was surprised when simple things weren't topped up like the coffee/milk etc. Had to wait at reception for over 5 mins on arrival and again when I had a query due to no one being at the desk. Two of the ladies I spoke with were lovely, one not so much.

Excellent location and good facilities, the room was clean and spacious with everything you could need iron, hair dryer and tea and coffee making facilities we had a fridge a large comfortable bed. Staff were all very nice a lot of reviews said about noise from the night club above we had no issues at all with sound keeping us awake we couldn’t here a thing and we were on floor 24.

Only thing that was a problem was the fact the air conditioning wasn’t working but we were advised when we arrived and a fan had been provided in the room as it turned out this wasn’t an issue at all. The TV sound is restricted and wasn’t very loud that was really the only thing.

The location and staff

Location is central - ten minute walk from new street station.

Hotel rooms are on super high floors and the rooms are boiling hot. Windows don’t open and the air con has either been switched off for cost saving or is broken. I was travelling for work and after two hours of sweating and trying to get to sleep I went down to reception to ask to move rooms and the embarrassed kid on reception said they had no rooms where the Aircon worked. There was an old dusty loud fan in the room so the company clearly know there is a problem with the rooms being hot and the fan obviously hardly makes a difference in a boiling hot room. The beds are weirdly soft and uncomfy and the bathroom hadn’t been cleaned properly, sink and toilet but there were hairs and decorations on the floor which clearly hadn’t been cleaned, carpet in bedroom was grimy, and the hand towel was badly stained.
