"Elevator broken"

1.0

Not much this time

The elevator has been broken for over a month but they dont tell you until you check in. Rooms have diagonal ceilings so if you're tall like me, you wont be able to stand in a lot of the room. Wallpaper is bubbling and peeling off a bit. Not worth the price of the room. Many better places to stay in Bisbee.

For an older hotel it was nice and clean. The elevator did not work. Rooms were nice and big.

I recently stayed at the Copper Queen Hotel in April 2026 to celebrate my dad’s birthday. The hotel itself is charming, unique, and full of character—definitely a fun place to experience if you’re visiting Bisbee. However, our experience with management was incredibly disappointing and overshadowed the stay. After checking out, my dad realized within a couple of hours that he had accidentally left some clothes hanging in the closet—along with a beautiful handmade dress (size 2–3) that he had just purchased for his granddaughter’s birthday. It was a very special item he was excited to give her. I immediately called the hotel, and a staff member told me she would check the room and call me back. I never received a return call. The following day, I spoke with Chris (who mentioned he sometimes fills in and is often there with a dog). He told me the items were likely in lost and found and said he would send photos. When he did, none of the items we described were included. He then said he would be meeting with housekeeping in a few days and would follow up—he never did. After multiple attempts to reach him, including calls from both me and my dad, we were either ignored or dismissed. When I finally got him on the phone again, he was unexpectedly hostile and claimed we hadn’t followed up, which was simply not true. He said he would check again and send more photos, but instead called back to say they didn’t have the items and “that’s the end of it.” Whether the items were misplaced or mishandled, the lack of communication, follow-through, and basic customer care was extremely frustrating and disappointing. Stay here if you want a quirky, historic hotel—but be very careful not to leave anything behind, as you may not get it back, and getting help from management may be difficult.

Always been a dream of mine to stay at this hotel and we were not let down! The staff was amazing, perfect part of town, love the vintage atmosphere, please don’t ever remodel and make it modern!

Great location

Room was small and the window looked out at the roof and sewer pipes. Shower was too small for my 6’2” husband. Elevator was not working.

"Great get away locartion"

Beautiful old hotel, the oldest continuously run in Arizona, with antique furnishings and architecture. Quaint room with comfortable bed. Do the ghost tour if you want more information on the history of the Copper Queen and Bisbee in general.
