A quaint hotel/pub service. Room was a bed and they even had an electric heater. A bit of a misunderstanding at checkout. The checkout desk was closed and the rooms are not connected to the main building. Several minutes of heavy pounding finally got someone awake so we could get our large baggage out of office. Staff is very friendly.
After we had a electrical issue in our house last week we manage to get in the bell hotel and I can just say thank you very much to Kim and all the staff for making our stay for the past 12 days extremely pleasant, they went above and beyond to help us on anything we need, considering most of hotels do not accommodate family rooms they manage to help us, we will see you all again soon, and I recommend the restaurant as the food is very good and tasty. Accommodations are very good and clean ,so do recommend.
We looked at the menu and decided to go somewhere else for dinner. The Indian Spice restaurant is pretty good across the street. The menu didn't have much variety and so we quickly lost interest.
The staff were all very friendly. The room was spacious and clean the window had a cracked pane of glass. Unfortunately the bed was very uncomfortable a new mattress is needed.
Came in on Friday for a steak meal but it was that tough I couldn't cut through it Peppercorn sauce didn't taste like peppercorn sauce . I won't be eating there again, for the price over the steak aswell you would expect a decent meal
Last minute stay while passing through the area. Although the building is tired and old the double room I stayed in was clean and comfortable. Food in the bar was delicious and as a single lady I felt comfortable in the surroundings. New manager was very friendly as were the staff. Will definitely stay again
We was very surprised in the bell hotel after not being in for a few years .it is now under new management .The ladies toilets where lovely and clean, walking past the men's toilet didn't make your eyes water anymore . The cider tasted crisp and fresh .The landlady and staff were very nice , chatty, and welcoming. Even though my daughter and I didn't eat in ,we did have food envey while checking out what other people had on their plates, if we hadn't of already eaten ,we definitely would of had a meal. See you again š
The property / Hotel is very old, but in need of a total refurbishment. Toilet system not working properly, Shower not working properly etc. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and I was given another room twice, but the carpet was so dirty you could not walk on it bare foot. T.V. not working in change of room. Would not stay there again, and defo not recommended.
Staff were friendly. It isn't a £65 a night hotel. There is a reason there are no pictures of the rooms. Very tired and dated.
We stayed at the bell for 1 night. They are currently working on some stuff as they had scaffolding around the hotel but I was rather appalled at some of the works needed in the building. As we walked to our room, we found that there was a leak in the roof as it was coming through the ceiling. Upon entering our room, it was super run down. The carpet was filthy and needed replacing. When we turned the light on in the main part of the room it was like a strobe light. Our toilet also didnāt seem to flush properly either. Iām very glad we only stayed 1 night and would not recommend staying there.
