"Lovely pub near Glyndebourne"

8.0

Lovely pub with very friendly staff. Room was small but well equipped. Very close to Glyndebourne, which is why we chose it. Great breakfast. Great food and beer in the pub.

Shower switch was a bit stiff and hard to turn off. I think we had the smallest room, so no wardrobe. More of a pub with rooms than a hotel, so depends what you are looking for, but we liked it!

"Very good"

8.0

Staff very friendly

Possibly me expecting too much but given we paid the same price for both of the days we stayed I was a little surprised there was no visit on day 2 to make the bed, replenish biscuits, milk, water, toiletries etc - it's the small things that make for a 'quality stay'.

"A lovely place to stay which we stubbled on late on a wet ngiht."

9.0

Lovely pub and the hall next door is perfect as a venue. Sprung dance floor.

There was a group at the bar. They were exceptionally noisy and rude.. I guess locals but that's no excuse for the language and conversation. I can imagine the bar staff were not too happy either.

"A very comfortable rural escape!"

9.0

Lovel rural location (not remote & easily accessible on main route to Lewes) and character pub. Very friendly & efficient staff - all keen to make one comfortable, inlcuding hearty piping hot food (generous portions) from the Kitchen.

"Short, expensive stay."

6.0

Bed was comfy (although it felt like you were on a bit of a slant). Location was great for us. Breakfast was really good.

Dirty toilet, fair bit of dust and cobwebs by door, lamp shade was broken on the inside next to the bed, broken wardrobe. Was quite expensive (£300 for 2nights midweek). Pictures looked nice online but felt a little let down when we arrived.
