Eden House Hotel

Room was very out-dated & shabby. Bathroom & bath had dirty marks which didn't look very inviting so had to skip my shower I had planned to have.

My partner and I were there for just one night. Upon arrival we were given the key for a room that had not been made up, went back to reception and the two gentleman there were every apologetic, it took a couple of goes before they got us a room that had been made up. The room itself was reasonably clean and large but quite basic. Things that could improve it are more hooks for towels etc in the bathroom, the curtains were coming off the rails and need to perhaps be checked more regularly. The mattress was getting a bit tired, may need a topper or to be replaced. The secondary glazing was getting stuck, we could close it completely, by this time it was late so we didn't ask for help with this but again just a sign of the need for some updating overall. Breakfast was fine, pleasant staff who attended to us. Seemed to be plenty of parking and the hotel was easy to find.

Stayed here for a wedding in Grantham and will not be returning to this hotel ever. It is very tired and outdated, with scarce staff. We checked into our room, which smelt and had a huge soil mark on the mattress. Thankfully we could change rooms, it was still very dated with see through curtains in the bathroom. They had run out of beans and mushrooms for breakfast and generally weren't that friendly to guests. This hotel needs a major revamp, not worth the money and wouldn't recommend.

Hotel average, staff very helpful. However, there was no chef for one night and menu choices were very limited on both nights. Web site promised much, but failed to deliver. Disappointed and unlikely to rebook again.

Greeted nicely but assigned a room that had not been cleaned. The cook took sick so dinning room as we arrived so were sent to a pub that did not serve food which meant we had to find our own restaurant by wondering around. It worked out but was annoying.

My bedroom required some maintenance and sound proofing. The toilet handle was loose and difficult to flush. The wall lights didn’t work. I could here the the bedroom next doors ablutions. The main reception area was really nice and the receptionist was worth her weight in gold. I found it difficult hauling my case up two flights of stairs as there wasn’t a lift. Had I known I would have packed less!

Good location, walking distance to Grantham centre, clean and friendly service, good bar and reception area. Decor was tired, would benefit from redecoration. Average 3*hotel.

We only stayed at the hotel for one night but we enjoyed it - the staff were friendly, helpful and efficient - the few things that weren't correct were soon put right and that's all you can ask for. The room was clean, spacious and pleasantly decorated and welcoming after a long journey. My highest recommendation is that if in that area again I would return to this hotel.
