Gorgeous location and wonderful attentive staff. The private waterfall was amazing and spa was great.

Being in the rainforest, expect bugs and no AC! Limited food options if you have allergies.

Fantastic decor throughout the hotel, well laid out with great grounds. The food is excellent and the bar makes great cocktails. The room is very comfortable. The 'beach' area.by the river is extrememly well done, the staff are all very friendly and efficient.

Be careful booking the river view rooms if you are a light sleeper - the waterfall is noisy!

Gaia Riverlodge was an incredible experience from start to finish. The setting is absolutely stunning — surrounded by lush jungle, nature and wildlife everywhere, with magical nighttime moments like spotting animals in the trees. The atmosphere felt peaceful, exclusive and completely immersed in nature while still being very comfortable. The food was exceptional throughout our stay, fresh, beautifully prepared and genuinely some of the best we have had while travelling. What truly made the experience special, however, was the staff. Every single person was warm, polite, attentive and genuinely friendly, making us feel welcomed and cared for at all times.

Honestly, very little. If anything, we only wish we could have stayed longer than two nights to enjoy everything the property and surrounding nature have to offer.

The wife and I had an excellent stay! Beautiful views of waterfalls (Five Sisters & Big Rock), great food from the restaurant, staff were super friendly and helpful! Booked a tour of Barton Creek Cave and Xunantunich through Gaia and our guide, Calbert, was awesome and very knowledgeable of the history. Overall, we would definitely recommend Gaia to anyone looking for an adventure off the beaten path!

I traveled to Gaia Riverlodge in early April 2026 as part of their 'Rainforest and Reef' package. I had not been to Belize previously, and my family wanted to experience both areas. Gaia is a unique property, set in a secluded area some 2 hours from the Belize City Airport, nestled in a pine rainforest with lots of ambiance and with access to a lovely river area with five waterfalls. From our first impressions, we can say that the people at Gaia were all very nice, friendly and accommodating. We especially enjoyed spending time with our drivers, Greg and Randolph - Greg was our tour guide on our tour of the Caracol Mayan area, which was one of the highlights of our trip. The bartenders, front desk and food service staff were also friendly and personable. We liked the spaciousness and versatility of our casita and the ability to travel easily down to the river on their two-person funicular tram. I'm glad we visited. It being the rainforest, we did have some rain, including one large thunderstorm that unfortunately some of our party was caught in. There were also lots of bugs (they have those nets over the beds for a reason) and a few warmer nights where I wished our casita had air conditioning. Our trip included meals, and the quality of everything we ate was mainly good, especially all of the breads, pastries and the in-house made ice cream. I may have liked a little more variety at mealtimes, though the menu did have some good options it did not change. My wife indulged in a massage, which they do in a little tent by the river area, and she said it was wonderful. The transportation to and from the lodge and to tours were all expertly handled and went smoothly. Extra extra shout out to Greg for always keeping cold water and cold bottles of Belikin Beer in the truck. If you are thinking of trying out the rainforest, certainly Gaia would be an excellent choice - you can't control the weather, but the friendly people more than make up for it.

Sehr schönes Hotel mit Top Ausblick mit sehr freundlichem Personal. Lage war super für Ausflüge. Solche zu Fuss wurde man jeweils vom Hotelhund Coco begleitet. Essen war auch sehr gut.

Für den Preis hätten wir reichaltigeres Frühstück erwartet. Das inbegriffene war etwas dürftig und teilweise wurde der Orangensaft vergessen. Man konnte mehr dazubuchen, kostete dann aber jedoch viel. Abendkarte war für 3 Nächte okay, wären wir länger geblieben, wäre uns das Essen langweilig geworden.
