"Great place to stay!"

10.0

Nice choice of breakfast, the salmon and scrambled egg was very nice. The evening meal (fish and chips) was cooked really well. The staff were very friendly and helpful. A very good pub and accommodation

Nothing! If I had to be really picky I would say that the restaurant area was smallish, but that was the beauty of it, that it was small and exclusive...

"Now tired!"

2.0

The food was exceptional and the staff very friendly

We had large stone lorries carting stone all through the night 11.30pm to 6.30am every 2 - 10 minutes 3 yards from our bedroom window resulting in NO sleep at all. Apparently this is a very common occurrence.

"Excellent overnight break"

9.0

Central location in the peaks making lots of interesting places and walks within easy reach. The room felt cared for and the en suite bathroom was spacious. Excellent breakfast included in the overnight price made the stay seem reasonable.

Its situation on a main road meant it was noisy . We were there on a warm night and needed to have the window open . Lots of heavy traffic noise.

"Beautiful 16th century Peak District Inn to stay for a break."

10.0

Very quaint, full of history. Very old and they have worked hard to maintain the history of the place. Yes, the floors are uneven, yes there isn’t a lift to upstairs, but that is EXACTLY what you would expect in a 16th century building, low ceilings, uneven floors, low beams and worn hand rails. The food is ALL home cooked, which you know because of the time between courses. The food is excellent, all locally sourced. The staff can’t do enough for you, so friendly and helpful. We will definitely be going back.
