The Old Borough Arms

Loved the friendly service and breakfast! Such a central location made everything easy and we were pleasantly surprised by how calm and quiet things at night were. Rooms were clean and cosy.

The pillow options in our opinion were too limited- there is such a thing as an uncomfortably large and bulky pillow! Please offer a menu :)

The location could not have been better. We were right in the heart of Rye, at the corner of Mermaid and High Street. Even short evening strolls from there - and the establishment itself - gave us epic glimpses into history, beauty and story. The room was very comfortable, with good light and views, and easy access to the bar/breakfast room. We appreciated the side chairs and table by the window. Most of all, the staff was amazing. Not only were they helpful and kind, they immediately made us feel at home and like much-welcomed guests of an Old Borough Arms family. They were warm, generous, fun and funny, informative and interesting, and went far above and beyond to help us out.

Such a lovely place, very quaint. The breakfast is amazing and in good weather, i had it up on the terrace. Everybody there was so polite. The location is good, very quiet, and the town is so small it's within walkign disance of everywhere.

Had a brilliant stay at The Old Borough Arms. The place has loads of character, a really warm and welcoming feel, and the staff were lovely from start to finish. The location is perfect, with everything you need close by, and it made the whole stay really easy and enjoyable. The room was comfortable, clean and full of charm, and you can tell a lot of care goes into making guests feel at home. Would happily recommend to anyone looking for somewhere relaxed, friendly and full of personality. Would definitely stay again.

the old borough arms was excellent for our three night stay. Room was clean and well presented. The bar and restaurant were not open during our stay so cannot comment on these. Breakfast was served in the cafe next door, still part of the same building and was very good. Portable air con machine was very welcome.

A little more attention to detail would be good. The shower door was missing a lower hinge in the runner , which didnt cause any issues as long as you were gentle with it. The room door was hard to close and open quietly, due to the top hinge being loose. Tea and coffee were not replenished during our stay and the cups were not cleaned, although we did not ask for the room to be cleaned but these little things would have been appreciated.

No fridge, needed better air con during the very warm days and nights was quite unbearable to get ready and sleep.
