Willington Hall Hotel

Location and setting was extremely tranquil. Staff were pleasant and helpful in the main.

Some furnishings and decor was either broken or not working. 2 lights in the bathroom, a couple of window panes cracked and bath panel loose. I don’t expect perfection in an also Manor House but for the price I would expect a bit better, especially considering the 4 star rating.

The location. The property was gorgeous and staff very friendly.

Could do with a bit of a refurb. Disappointed that was told I couldn’t get champagne by the glass as it says otherwise on menu.

Very comfortable beds, slept well and a relaxing atmosphere. The evening meal was tasty but breakfast was a little disappointing coffee weak, eggs could be warmer hotel location and setting beautiful

Beautiful setting .Staff very good nothing was an issue extremely friendly and professional . Food very good lovely meal unfortunately missed the breakfast due to our early start before 8 the following day but the staff managed to look after us with a snack.

The room although a little tired was very comfortable. Small tweaks would make this hotel an exceptional place to stay just needs a bit of attention

Location was stunning, it was perfectly situated in a rural country location views were superb was sister was pleasantly surprised at the setting Breakfast was delicious although we had a bit too much toast. Had further options of cereal too.

Sausages could have been cooked a bit more and one piece of toast would have been enough.

Setting was amazing - beautiful gardens to walk in . Room was huge with a gorgeous view. Bed was very comfortable . Loved being able to bring the dogs who were very welcome .

I specifically checked that it had room service before booking - as we wanted to eat in our room - it states on the website that it has room service and it’s one of the faqs. But on arrival we were told no room service . So not as advertised. We also were denied an ice bucket for our room - which is very unusual . The young staff were very pleasant and helpful- but seemed under staffed .

Very disappointed in the service : booked a special birthday dinner with friends . Upon arrival shown I to the bar to wait for guests to arrive : only two young staff members serving in a very busy bar - clearly struggling . Had booked champagne to be served to guests upon arrival . Had to go and find out where it was ! Dinner booking/ serving was slow - one appetiser course incorrect - followed by correct order some 5 mins later- guest therefore had two appetisers in front of him . Waited so long for main course to arrive that guest went to enquire where our meal was - young waiter apologised and explained that they only had one chef on that night . Only two tables covered in main dining room for dinner although bar food area might have been busy . Desserts arrived . Had requested a ‘special ‘ gesture for birthday lady by way of a candle - that failed to happen . Had organised special table flowers for the evening and had been assured the previous day during booking that they would ensure the dinner would reflect a ‘special’ event for the birthday lady ….very expensive and very ordinary …. Later in the week attended a club afternoon tea event - again very slow service particularly in the bar - one member of staff said she had never done bar work before when it was obvious customers were becoming impatient and some questioned the type of glasses that their drinks were being served in ! Beautiful setting and lovely building - such a shame that the service & dining experience lets it down .
