Benikea Calton Hotel Fukuoka Tenjin

I love Fukuoka, Tenjin is next to Hakata, the location of this hotel is great.

I had three days to explore Fukuoka. I purchased an IC transit card at the subway station which works for buses, subways and local trains. I visited the zoo, the castle ruins and the beach at Shingu. Yeti is a restaurant near the hotel owned by a man who immigrated from Nepal. Both entrees were very good.

A comfortable hotel in a great area for shopping. Set in the middle of some cozy neighborhoods, so a really homey feel.

Breakfast was the best part of the hotel. Room was small but comfortable.

It was okay nothing especial to brag about, the hotel is a typical budget hotel but the price was a bit high for a budget hotel if you compare to the standard of this kind of hotel.

Bed is on the floor with a hard mattress. Not best location.

Staffs are not good at English. But they have good senses and willingness for helping guests. Near to Tenjin town, and I can easily travel to all around Fukuoka city by walk and by 1 day city bus pass. Maybe you can feel uncomportable due to its narrow space, but it is the very uniqueness of Japan.

We were there during the Kumamoto earthquake(like 2hrs far), stayed last april 12-17, we felt the shakes, the aftershocks, we all panicked but how hotel management handled the situation is impressive. Building is of good quality,everyone was helpful, convenient place for bus hopping as it is near to stations, lots of restaurants and commercial place around the area.Would definitely come back & recommend to friends☺
