Ambong Rainforest Retreat

We stayed here for 3 nights, the hotel is beautiful, they take care or every detail. The staff is very sweet, they help you with anything you need. Nice authentic place surrounded by the jugle.

We were highly impressed by the excellent service from the staff in Ambong Ambong. Every one of them were warm, thoughtful and always prompt in responding to us and ensuring our stay was comfortable. The room and facilities were very clean and well maintained, with protection from mosquitoes despite being in the middle of a rainforest. We enjoyed our stay thoroughly and will highly recommend.

How can I even begin. What an incredible holiday. The ambong retreat is a truly magical place. Beautiful green and stunning views. The sounds and rustles of nature and amazing wildlife. The staff go above and beyond, driving you up and down from your room if you want, and to and from the Ambong Pool Villas. The rooms are stunning. They also provide turn down service and mosquito proof the rooms for you. The food is incredible and they even provide free yoga in the mornings on certain days with the most stunning views. It is definitely the perfect holiday for couples, we feel so lucky to have stayed there. Nizal, one of the hotel drivers was so lovely, we really enjoyed getting to know him. We had an amazing stay at Ambong Ambong rainforest retreat! From the moment we arrived till the moment we went to the airport, we loved it. Everyone was sooo warm and sweet, they told us "we want to be your second family during the stay" and they truly were. The service couldnt be any better. The food was also amazing. We loved staying in the forest, we also saw a lot of monkeys and they even came on our balcony. We just want to thank you for everything, it was truly a memorabel experience.

This was such a fantastic place to stay, truly a retreat from modern city life, high up in the rainforest. Our room was incredible, the hospitality was generous and faultless, we honestly had such an amazing and relaxing time here. Thank you Ambong team, we will certainly be back again.

Everything was perfect! The service was excellent and the staff were always smiling and welcoming. The room was spacious, spotless, and offered a stunning view right in the middle of the forest, where you can spot monkeys. Breakfast was decent and a nice way to start the day. I highly recommend this hotel!

I truly believe this is the best hotel in Langkawi. It is small, in the middle in the jungle and with a truly great staff. We enjoyed our stay so much. From our room window we saw monkeys, big lizards, squirrels, different birds and a many butterflies. All combined with a view of the ocean.

Ambong Ambong is a jungle/hill and tree-top retreat with stunning views. It's very much aimed at true nature lovers, and is a wonderful choice for those who want a complete break from city life. We absolutely loved it! The property is divided into two parts, suites (which are like spacious studio apartments) and bungalows/villas with a private pool for absolute privacy. Because you're on a hill, everything feels as if you're in the middle of the jungle, and for those less fit (or older, like us) there's a constant, on-demand shuttle up and down the hill. We've been to Langkawi several times and this is our absolute favourite especially the fact that the suite is open to the fresh air with large swishy fans instead of air-conditioning. We stayed in Singa 2 and the al fresco bath tub "with view" was an absolute bonus! The bedroom and bathroom are well-equipped and air-conditioned. It's where you hide all your stuff from the monkeys. ;) I was pretty impressed that we had real coffee and a cafetière in the room as well as a milk jug - small luxuries count! Facilities: There's a very pleasant breakfast room with a deck and stunning views as well as a Skybar upstairs which offers romantic dinners (set menu). In addition, there's a yoga deck (min. 4 pax for a class) communal pool, a massage room, a vegan restaurant, a Japanese restaurant (independently owned). We particularly appreciated that all the staff (except one) were Malay. You couldn't ask for better staff: friendly, gracious and extremely helpful.

We had an absolutely amazing stay at Ambong-Ambong – we can’t recommend this beautiful rainforest retreat enough! The staff took such great care of us – incredibly kind, helpful, and polite throughout our visit. Our cottage was spotless and had everything we needed to feel right at home. The breakfast was a real highlight – truly one of the best we’ve ever had at any hotel! We loved our yoga class every morning, what a treat! We’ll definitely be back. Our stay at Ambong Ambong Rainforest Retreat in Langkawi was truly wonderful. The atmosphere is incredibly quiet and peaceful, making it a perfect escape. The property is very well-maintained, and the service staff are exceptionally welcoming and helpful, always going the extra mile. We particularly appreciated how responsive they were via WhatsApp, which made communication effortless. The shuttle staff were also very helpful. A lovely touch was the complimentary bottle of white wine gifted to us the night before our departure. The energizing yoga sessions were amazing, a fantastic way to start the day. We thoroughly enjoyed the delicious food at Rimba. While the service at Pegaga restaurant was a little slow and inconsistent at times, the quality of the food remained high. A special mention goes to Preem for his excellent and attentive service throughout our stay. Highly recommended for a tranquil and rejuvenating experience!
