The Norfolk Lodge Hotel

The hotel staff is really helpful and service is brilliant. The rooms are ok but walls are thin and wooden floor noisy. 10 min walk from the center. Overall a very pleasant stay.

The property is clean and tidy with friendly staff, the rooms are quite dated with thin curtains that let all the light through.

Didn’t like getting wakened up at 6am with squeaky floor boards , also no air / con , the hotel staff are really nice but hotel very very dated .

I really enjoyed my short stay here. The hotel is an older, traditional style property, but was spotlessly clean in all public areas. The room I had was definitely basic decor, but contained everything I needed. Comfy bed, choice of pillows, clean linen. The bathroom was small, but was clean, had a good hot shower and very soft towels, free toiletries. Hairdryer in room, plus tea, coffee and biscuits. No air con, but the window opens ajar, but you will obviously get some road noise from 06:30 if the window is left open.The staff are all very friendly and helpful. The restaurant and bar offer good quality food at reasonable prices. The breakfast selection is very good, both Continental or cooked English. The gym has various cycling, rowing machines and one cross trainer and free hand weights. Pool area is warm, with showers and changing facilities. The pool floor could be cleaner, but the water and surrounding pool area is fine. I would definitely stay here again as it offers good value for money, in a good location, with easy access into town or seafront (just a 10 min walk if you’re able bodied). A previous review said it was musty. In some corridor areas, there was a slight musty smell, but the hotel has only recently re-opened after a long winter / pandemic closure, so this is to be expected for a short time.

The room was damp and there was an overpowering smell of must in the room so I spent most of the trip blowing my nose. They are clearly aware of this as they provided a box of tissues in the room. The room was not clean, it was very tired and dated. The curtains did not block any light whatsoever so I was awake as soon as the sun came up. I only eat porridge for breakfast which, on the first day was lovely, and on the second day was like soup, it was so watery I could not eat it. The staff were fantastic and very welcoming, so no issues with the staff as they were all brilliant.

The staff are great and always helpful. The breakfast was filling and offered a wide variety. As others have said the place could do with a lick of paint and new carpets, once that’s achieved the hotel could easily charge more.

Great stay in a classic older hotel.

Excellent service and cleanliness. The quality of our evening meals was truly exceptional.

We had to change to the Best Western Hotel as our original hotel was shut. The staff was amazing, very helpful and accommodating. The hotel was a ‘little tired’ but everything else was superb. Had a very good breakfast and bar meals were also enjoyable. Excellent position of the hotel in st Helier.
