Lovely setting. Comfortable room. Very nice food. Breakfast nice. Dog was catered for.

Das Frühstück war gut , aber nicht excellent . Die Lage ist sehr hinreißend , alleine die Auffahrt zum Gebäude durch die lange Allee ein Traum .

Room was very tried, had to sit under the stairs in the hotel, due to having a dog.This was not explained on the phone when I spoke to the hotel, I was only told they would put us somewhere else for dinner.

Schöner Garten (Fluss, Spazierwege, Blumen usw). Großes Zimmer. Ruhig. Kleine Überraschung immer wieder als Service im Hotelrestaurant!

Abgelegen (Man muss lange reinfahren bis zum Hotel. Daher nichts in der Nähe). Das Zimmer zu heiß ohne Klimaanlage (wenn im Juni so ist, möchte nicht wissen wie es im August ist!), kaum möglich durch das Lüften Zimmer zu kühlen (Fenster winzig) Auch kein Kühlschrank. Hotelrestaurant teuer.

Old school country house hotel which changed ownership last year. Great location, very peaceful and the grounds around the hotel were well landscaped with woodland & riverside walks. Staff were friendly at reception, bar, and breakfast buffet. Our room was very clean and well appointed.

The bar area was a bit tired but a note in the room advised the hotel was going through a period of upgrading. I asked for a cooked room service breakfast for my wife and was told they normally only provide a continental breakfast. However, the guy on reception went and spoke to someone in the catering team who said it could be done. When I came down for breakfast in the dining room next morning I was advised, initially, a cooked breakfast could not be provided as the new owners "didn't like the smell of bacon in the room". Surprising as the breakfast buffet is set up in the main hall and the "smell of bacon" thus wafted luxuriously throughout the entire establishment! My wife still got her cooked breakfast but the episode left a bad taste in the mouth (bacon?). Can I suggest a list of approved foods be supplied at check-in or remove "room service" from the list of room features. I hurriedly returned the tray post-breakfast lest the "smell of bacon" linger on. Please be advised no pigs were harmed during the production of this review. Rasher people than I would have got angry but I just went wee wee wee all the way home.

Breakfast disappointing. For a hotel of this reputation, I would have expected the hot food would have been made to order. Eggs which have been lying for some time are not the best.

Some of the public rooms need upgrading.

The one redeeming quality of staying here was the location. The outdoor area was gorgeous!

We paid 200 pounds to stay at the river view suite but were disappointed to find that we weren't staying in the main building. There were also supposed to be bath robes provided, which they were not. The website also said that it came with a way to make tea and coffee but there were only cups and no way to heat up water. The headboard was stained, and it was purposely hidden in the photos online. Lastly, the chairs and couch in the seperate sitting room were so worn down that they were unusable and extremely uncomfortable. I dont plan on staying here again and will be telling others of my experience there.

The welcoming team and breakfast servers were all very friendly and helpful . We felt so welcome and at ease there.
