Casa Balthazar

I lovely, quiet, friendly hotel. The breakfast was great and room was big, clean and comfortable with old, quirky furniture but new, quality mattress and bedding. The staff were so friendly and helpful from the time of booking onwards. We enjoyed the free coffee and slice of cake set out in the lounge each afternoon. Location relatively central but tucked away on a small back street. Would certainly recommend it.

Our room was very spacious and clean, breakfast was great, the staff was helpful and nice, and the location is great. Very centric and felt close to restaurants and life.

From the beginning when I began booking my stay, Teresa and Ruth couldn’t have been more helpful. From recommendations for tours to dinner and everything else - I could not be more pleased. The tuk tuk with Sandra to give us a taste of Lisbon to the day trip with private driver (Ricardo) was spectacular. We had 2 very early days and would miss breakfast but they made arrangements for us to eat early. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Casa Balthazar and all the people there. I doubt I would stay anywhere else on my next trip to Lisbon.

unfortunately we did have ants because of food left out, but Ruth was ON IT. Taken care of as soon as we said anything. Like I said before: excellence.

We adored our time at Casa Balthazar! We had pretty high expectations due to all the 5-star reviews and this hotel surpassed on all levels. The hotel is in an ideal location in the middle of everything but somehow is a quiet oasis of calm. It is charming, warm and spotless. The entire staff is outstanding including the front desk, breakfast and cleaning staff. Breakfast offers a wonderful selection of fresh and delicious choices; to order coffees and eggs are cheerfully provided if requested. We splurged and stayed in Jacuzzi 111 which was spacious and very special with a beautiful view of the castle. We plan to come back to this beautiful city and when we do we won’t think of staying anyplace else. Believe the reviews. Thank you Casa Balthazar for a truly fantastic experience.

Wonderful oasis in the heart of Lisbon. Beautiful, spacious room with incredible views over the city. Professional, attentive and friendly staff who went out of their way to ensure we had an unforgettable stay. Really can’t wait to return.

This is one of the best boutique hotels we have stayed in. Great location in a central but quiet area (no road or public noise), they have some secure parking but Lisbon public transport is good and relatively inexpensive. The staff are friendly and ever present. Rooms are spacious, comfortable and quiet (nice beds). There is a beautiful courtyard with a warm pool, in the basement a spa that can be booked for your personal use in 1 hour slots. Every afternoon there is complementary tea, coffee and nice cake with several communal areas to relax in, great after a day exploring the city. I have the left the best bit till last. ‘The Breakfast’…….. you’re just going to have to try it to find out!
