Gatlinburg View Lodge

NO HOT WATER! So we saw bad reviews but I thought some travelers are finicky so maybe it’s not that bad. We got our room number and code to the door via email. We arrive late at night to a very humid room, not hot-just like everything was damp. Ok, that’s not too bad- at least the room is clean. The next morning we go to take a shower. Well the shower head is about 4 feet high in the corner of the shower. Oh well, we can manage.. oh wait, there’s no hot water. I call the number given in the email and posted in the room, no answer-5 times that morning and no answer. We go about our day thinking there is an issue that is hopefully being fixed. Next morning still no hot water. We call again several times, leave messages but no answer. A little bit later I see someone outside the rooms and ask about the hot water. She (Jessie) says she is the manager and she has maintenance working on it. We go about our day then come back that evening and check the water, still cold. Call and call but still no answer. We wake up the next morning and still cold water. We see Jessie again-This time she’s just the housekeeping manager and can’t help us but offers to try to contact someone. She also offers a new room, we don’t want to do this with 4 people but accept to take a shower in another room. She takes my phone number-She never calls me and we never get hot water. FOUR DAYS of no hot water.. keep in mind this is 50 degree weather in the mountains. Never was able to get a response DEPLORABLE

Uncomfortable beds and very basic nothing extra

Room was very clean and comfortable. Only complaints I have was there was NO HOT WATER. I guess they have problems getting a Plummer to work on things. We stayed 5 nights an Plummer never showed up to fix issue. Also couldn’t getting clean towels brought to the room so we had to wash towels in the sink just to have clean towels for the next day

Absolutely no cars in the lot up a steep hill, hidden behind the building. A little scary for females traveling. Room was fine minus the musty smell that took a while to get used to. No one in office or in the building at all until about 9pm when there were pounding noises above our room for a couple hours. Really strange noises. Very loud like furniture being moved.

Our experience was not the best. Our reservation got cancelled last minute on the same day we were supposed to arrive. It was an awful inconvenience and we had to look for another booking last minute making it an extra expense. It has been 2 days and we have yet to see a refund .

I was called in my way to Gatlinburg and told they had no rooms available. This was an inconvenience since I was already in Knoxville from Cincinnati.

Nice room and clean. Not good parking. But they are on a hillside. I didn’t like the contactless checking in and out because no one was at the office at all. I chose to pay at checkin but of course could not do that. I did call but could not understand the person on the phone and then they hung up on me.

Liked everything about our stay except contactless check in.

The room was supposed to be a king size room. The bed was 2 twin size beds pushed together. It was VERY uncomfortable. There werent any towels or washcloths in the room. I went down to the lobby and it was closed. We called the service number and requested towels, no one ever showed up. We spent 2 days at this lodge, never once seen an employee and never got and custimer service.

We had a few problems such as the tv control not working (pretty much means you can’t watch TV unless you find a hidden switch). We called 3 times for service. We got automated message twice, and a message once that they will provide everything by the next morning. And would reach out. But they never reached out, never gave us new towels, never made the beds, never fixed the tv. The kitchen was locked and the key code provided did not work. There is no office on premises, it is all (mid)Handled remotely, so there is no one to talk to. And last, the air conditioner is extremely loud, yet it doesn’t cool much. No stopper for bath tub. One thing that was great was the refrigerator. Much bigger than most
