If you need a clean place to stay the Princess Fairbanks will do. The hotel seems dated however, this maybe sufficient for the area.
I expected alot more for a princess lodge. Room was ok. No glasses/cup in bathroom, no hand soap. No fridge or microwave. Free coffee in room but none in the lobby. Had to pay at the restaurant or gift shop. Food and beer very expensive. I got the fish and chips it was awful. Breading over done. Fish was gross. Continental breakfast was $18. We got a breakfast sandwich from the gift shop for $7.95. Not awesome but reasonable and tasted ok.
Our room, while clean had very worn carpet - separating in a significant way. Otherwise clean, and the staff were very nice
Location was good- close to the airport and was central to many other attractions. The facility is beautiful and the dining services were good but extremely expensive. We did not like the small room. There was no fridge and no view. The shower head was old: the hand-held type that needed to be hooked on the wall to stay put but it was not staying in place. We paid $285/night for the room and was disappointed.
We liked the proximity to the river and the university. The outside of the hotel is really what we loved. We played horseshoes and bocce ball. We really enjoyed walking through the gardens and along the river.
I liked the location of the property and service was exceptional. what I didn't like was the strict check in time of 3 pm, no room for earlier check in for travelers. Also, I was a single traveler and didn't know about the tours coming through, very busy and very loud even at night. I wasn't happy with the room I was given since by elevators and lobby, even more loud. also no hand soap in the bathroom. the location and grounds were nice, restaurant good food. breakfast buffet a bit basic. thanks.
We stayed 3 days. Trash and towels were never removed. bed un made. Good rate and great coffee.
Not for a business traveler. No refrigerator or microwave in room. Entire facility centered around their tours and tourists. Tv selection and quality is the same as it was in 1980. Staff was nice. Room was clean.
