Fairbanks Princess Riverside Lodge

Very convenient

Hotel staff booked another guest into my room. We were both a bit surprised when he opened the door to my room and I was laying my bed in my underwear🙁

We pd for an extra night as we had a late night flight. We had DO NOT DISTURB on door. 8:00am housekeeping knocking on door, what time r you checking out. I said we pd for an extra night, late flight. He says oh and leaves. No apologies for waking us up. We wanted to sleep in as we had a late night flight. Princess said have luggage out at 11am for transfer to airport, had it out at 10:30am. 12pm still there, front desk says they overlooked you, you will have to take it yourself. We r 2 seniors with medical issues. Didn’t matter. 3pm we go for walk, come back and we r locked out of room. Front desk, no explanation gives us new key cards. I mention the luggage fiasco, she says it’s on shore excursions and not the front desk. A guy shows up and says he will talk to supervisor about the luggage and will come back. He never came back. We push our luggage down 2 long halls, elevator and finally get to the lodge. Same guy sees us and says I can load it on the shuttle for you. By this time we already brought it all the way there except for the 10ft out the lodge door. We said forget it. Horrible, horrible customer service. Played the blame game on the luggage. We all the shuttles running to the airport all day long, they should have made it right instead of having 2 seniors pushing it so far with medical issues to boot. We regret paying the extra night as they were banging on the door at 8am waking us up anyway.

I checked in and was given a room that had just started to be cleaned and I had to wait for the room to be cleaned before I could go in - the housekeepers were very nice and apologetic - must have been a mix up at the front desk. But then once I was in my room, my room was entered by someone - I’m not sure who-they ran away quickly once they knew the room was occupied. The following day; I got a knock on my door at 8am asking if I was still in the room when checkout was at 11am.

This hotel is older, being kept up in the rustic style. Rooms are basic although the establishment in huge! Fitness center was being renovated. The outdoor deck with seating for lunch and dinner dining offered beautiful views. Away from downtown, isolated.

it's so worn down. its just mediocre. It's dated you can tell by looking at it in the fixtures. It is clean. The staff is not very friendly and they're not very helpful. The best staff in the facility were at the tour desk for Princess. The minimal meal services were woeful with only two restaurants with very limited menus. Trackers is good for fast food but the main dining room has such a limited menu. It's almost pitiful it is a beautiful room. Its crazy that luxury hotel on a river in Alaska that They put us in a room overlooking the parking lot and a black tar roof. unbelievable for a $10,000 tour that they give you such a junky room not overlooking the river. I would never stay here again.

That no one had any info about their shuttle service. N body seemed to know. I’d of muddled my flight out. Tours rule. I’m an Alaskan resident and any hotel has made my life much harder due to pure greed . I am 78 I was told Princess Riverview HAD a shuttle to airport. Then the day I drove up to Fbks to store my car. No way to even get TO you and once there. Nope no shuttle. Then got redirected to yes there is. But the desk and lobby had no idea. Got a few hrs sleep. Ate. But had I not kept walking outside and inside I never would have seen this huge empty bus and a 20 yr old who had no idea what to do just in this empty bus. Nice kid took me to airport. Shuttle to 2 am flight is the ONLY reason I need a room at all.

I had no time to look. So tired from shutting down my cabin. Mainly needed a shuttle to airport. Staff only knows. TOURS.

One of the better operated Princess Lodges. The place is clean, the rooms well appointed. The staff were for the most part more seasoned than in the other Princess lodges and it showed in more consistent service all round. A bit disappointing that they have no place to get ice cream in the hotel. We had to walk a half mile to the next hotel to satisfy our craving. So be aware if you have kids or want ice cream. Also, unless you have your own transport, you are limited to their on site cafe and restaurants which are not bad at all.

I had booked a King room back in April and they stated they could not accommodate me! It was only 5PM! Gave me a double bed!! They would not give me a discount Said to take my grievences to Orbitz! So can you give me the discount!
