Terrasse Hotel Playa del Carmen

Nice rooftop with a terrasse and a small pool. Clean and comfortable room with a mini fridge. Close to everything but in a quiet neighbourhood. Access to a beach club where we needed to spend only 300 pesos. Free water, coffee and tea at the reception.

It looks like they had a restaurant before but it’s now closed. Even though the hotel did not seem to be fully booked, they only wanted us to check-out late if we were to pay half the daily rate. Our flight was at 7pm so we wanted to stay only until 3pm, but had to leave at noon since we did not want to pay that much for 3 hours (not 12) extra. All the activities and transports they offer are very more expensive than if you book it yourself.

The hotel is away from the 5th avenue but still reachable within 5min walking distance. You get to have the pleasure of being close but without the noise of the 5th avenue.

The only thing was that towels and bed sheets were lightly stained, nothing we couldn’t use though.

Place is loud, wall is super thin, you’ll hear neighbors, dogs barking outside, staff likes to shout and bang around from early morning, your upstairs neighbors will drag furniture around all throughout the night and early morning and most importantly, service is absolutely terrible, super unfriendly and unkind. would not recommend it.

Rooms: Beyond Unsanitary • Pubic hair on the bed sheets—clearly unwashed. • Bodily fluids on the sink—absolutely revolting. • Moldy, musty bathroom & dust everywhere—zero cleanliness standards. • Second room was just as filthy—this wasn’t a one-time mistake. Rooftop Pool: A Slimy Disaster • Walls stained brown with dirt—clearly uncleaned for ages. • Pool water was murky and slimy—completely unusable. • Looked abandoned and nothing like the photos. Polite But Powerless Staff The staff were nice but helpless—they knew how bad it was but couldn’t do anything. No refund, no solution—just fake apologies. Final Verdict: AVOID AT ALL COSTS. This is not a 4-star hotel—it’s a dirty, deceptive mess. The false advertising is a scam, and they just take your money with no intention of delivering a quality stay. Do yourself a favor and book elsewhere.
