The Westin Tempe

What is the most stressful part about traveling for work? Being overcharged for the stay and having to deal with the problem for weeks. I was incorrectly charged a few hundred dollars on my card. When the billing error was reported to the front office, Jayden acknowledged it and told me the charge would be corrected by a manager. Well, weeks later, the unauthorized charge is still on my credit card. Reported the problem to a manager, but received no response or resolution for weeks. Danielle at the front desk is unqualified to work at a full-service hotel, where communication with guests is a key function. The lack of professionalism, accountability, attention to detail, and basic customer service at this hotel was shocking. This property feels more like a poorly managed motel than a Westin hotel.

Location, cleanliness, design, staff. Especially enjoyed the rooftop bar and pool facility, great for an afternoon in the heart of the city, close to the airport and a reasonable distance downtown.

Location was perfect!! Right next to bars and restaurants . They provided two Complimentary cocktails/mocktails and two complimentary coffees from the coffee shop as well. Roof top pool with bar!!

What a great experience here! Service was impeccable, especially Jonas and Hannah at the front desk. They could not be any more helpful, they go out of their way to help all guests!

To start, we had to wait for hours after our check-in time, as our room wasn’t ready, and I don’t think it could have gotten worse. At night, we were shocked to discover that this Westin hosts late, rave-style parties on its rooftop bar. This is not one of those events for hotel guests, but it is open to the public for anyone 21 years of age or older. As a result, the party attracted a crowd that was not what you would typically expect to come to a Westin hotel. Due to the unbearable noise, we went to check what was going on, and we couldn’t help but notice that many party attendees wore highly inappropriate and revealing clothing, which made our daughter feel extremely uncomfortable. The following morning, we saw many guests appear intoxicated and dressed inappropriately, standing next to us, waiting for the valet to retrieve our vehicles. When we raised our concerns to the front desk agents, we were told that there was nothing they could do about these parties. At no point, when we checked in or during our stay, did any staff provide us with an explanation about these wild parties. Not even a courtesy notice or heads up. As an ASU graduate with a young family, I love Tempe and its surrounding areas. However, this Westin is badly mismanaged, and the staff showed no willingness to assist when our concerns were raised. Not the Westin standard we expected.
