Heart of the City - FREE PARKING

It looked nice and had lift also had Netflix,plenty of towels and body wash etc.washing up liquid and a sponge and tea towel were left and some teabags ,sugar and coffee .

We were given a code to get in but a letter hadn't been given so only got in as another guest let us in,there wasn't any hot water at all not even to wash up ,I wanted a bath as had a hospital appointment the next morning but couldn't have one I tried several times to get hot water over a few hours but none and sent a message to the owners odd no hot water at all? The sofa bed had stains on the seating area it was covered by a blanket my son had to sleep on it he didn't sleep as said it was uncomfortable the duvet supplied didn't look clean some areas could have been cleaner ,the stairs were very hard to use to go to the bedroom and bathroom downstairs there were little sensor lights on the wall near the stairs but they didn't work so I felt very wary wouldn't stay again prefer a more safe place ,I didn't sleep much as expelair wouldn't shut off in the bathroom 2hrs plus constantly was a nightmare and the bed wasn't very comfortable for me.

Location was great! Hardly any noise at night and super easy to pop in throughout the day if toilet was needed etc. Parking wasn't on site but about 5 mins walk away. Bruks the Cafe was on the street outside and perfect for breakfast.

Two minor issues, personal preference you could say - Shower was only warm not hot enough but good pressure, could do with a re-seal as abit grimy on edges. The mattress is past its best, the springs 'pop' when you turn over so didn't sleep the best.

Location is perfect

The bed was very uncomfortable, mattress needs changed and the water in the apartment doesn't run hot (Luke warm at best). Just little things around the apartment need fixing... there were issues with door handles, balustrade on the stair case wasnt attached, mirror doors in bedroom off, flooring scuffed / dirty, coffee machine water tank filthy... lots of little things below standard....wouldn't go back.

Location and leaving the apartment early - were the two main highlights.

We booked a two night stay but had to leave the apartment a day early. The bed and sofabed were so uncomfortable that we both had very sore backs and struggled to enjoy our time walking round York. The bedsheets and duvet were stained, along with someone’s red nail polish peeled off onto them. The bedding felt and smelt damp and unclean. One duvet didnt even have a cover on it. The sliding wardrobe doors in the bedroom were broken. We found a pair of dirty knickers under the sofa and a huge amount of food crumbs. The cutlery was dirty so we were unable to cook. The staircase was broken which was an issue particularly on a spiral staircase and is most certainly a danger for children due to the big gap that the broken spindle makes. The hot tap in the downstairs bathroom was constantly leaking, which made it steamy and damp - we couldn’t use the mirrors to get ready because we couldn’t see. All in all, we were very unhappy with our stay and it has ruined our time away from home. Still no response from the owner when we expressed our concerns after leaving 24hrs early.

Great location and apartment itself was very comfy and well equipped. prior to arriving the communication and help was spot on! very quick to respond..

Apartment was lovely everything you needed just wish we would of stayed longer

Would benefit if we stayed two nights rather than one

Hosts were lovely and the parking was really convenient for York. The apartment had everything you could think of including a toilet on each level which was useful

There is 1 picture of the stairs but no mention of them anywhere else I didn't quite click on what they were in the listing photo, so they were a shock to us! A little rickety and scary to go up and down as they are wood so slippy, but as long as you had shoes or bare feet and didn't attempt them in socks it was all ok (and the good outweighed the stairs by far!)

The location is excellent, set back from the main shopping areas means you can nip out quickly for some last minute things, I was expecting some noise at night however going midweek meant it was fairly quiet, the separate sleeping areas worked well for us as a family with two young children and having a full kitchen meant mealtimes we're less stressful not having to eat out every night. the parking is away from the property but only a 7 minute walk and fairly flat so no problem for us. The owners were quick and concise to answer daft questions about the access arrangements for example.The property is wheelchair/pram friendly, with ramps and a lift inside.

The mattress was very soft on the main bed but ok for a couple of nights. The sofa bed has obviously had a lot of use! (possibly needs new foam inserts) but as the kids were sleeping on this, it wasnt such a problem for us this time, It would be nice to have a telly in the main bedroom for when the kids go to bed at 8pm we would still like to have the option to watch our own programs. The oven and extractor are quite noisy and the frying pan provided was anything but nonstick.
