Fletchers Rest

I had a wonderful short stay at Fletcher’s Rest. From the moment I arrived, everything felt warm, welcoming, and thoughtfully prepared. The space was spotless, comfortable, and beautifully kept, making it easy to relax straight away. Even though my visit was brief, it left a lasting impression thanks to the peaceful atmosphere and attention to detail. Charlotte was especially helpful throughout my stay, even going the extra mile to promptly arrange the return of my son’s charger, which was greatly appreciated. I’d happily return and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a calm and comfortable getaway in Whitby.

There was nothing I didn’t like—my stay was excellent from start to finish.

Great location with on drive parking. The bungalow has a private garden to the rear with a table and 4 chairs. The bungalow has been renovated into a modern style but remains comfortable throughout. The hosts left a lovely welcome pack and card which was a nice addition and appreciated. We had good communication with the hosts who checked in to see if there were anything we needed.

Nothing liked it all

We’ve just returned from an absolutely brilliant stay at this holiday cottage, and I can’t recommend it highly enough. From the moment we arrived, it was clear how much care and attention had gone into everything — the cottage was immaculately clean, beautifully presented, and incredibly welcoming. The location is fantastic, perfectly situated for exploring the area, with the added bonus of a stunning view of Whitby Abbey — waking up to that view really made the trip feel special. Having onsite parking was ideal and made everything so much easier, especially after days out exploring. Whether you prefer to cook in or eat out, it’s perfectly placed. We’d definitely recommend Passage of India for a lovely meal and the Singing Cafe for a great breakfast — both were highlights of our stay. All in all, it was a fantastic trip. A beautiful cottage, a perfect location, and a lovely, welcoming host who made the experience even better. We wouldn’t hesitate to return!

Nothing, everything was lovely.

Lovely clean well equipped bungalow. Also a good size garden with garden furniture. The complementary whitby tea biscuits and tea and coffee with a lovely welcome card was a lovely touch when we arrived .

There were two things which this property would benefit from. Having some sort of storage for toiletries in both bathrooms. We had to keep all our toiletries on the floor. Which was difficult for myself due disability problems with keeping to get toiletries from low down. Also a hand rail by the front door for people with mobility issues who probably chose a bungalow due to these issues .

This was the nicest B&B we have stayed, the hosts were friendly and helpful.

There wasn’t anything we didn’t like.

Beautiful bungalow in a great location, just 5 minutes walk to the Main Street and harbour. Beds were super comfy and had all the amenities you needed. Lovely little personal card and cookies when we arrived was a lovely touch. Shower in en-suite was amazing! Comfy living room, perfect to chill in when you come home and nice big couch. We have stayed in many places in Whitby and this property goes to the top of our list. It was immaculate and communication with property owners was 10/10. Parking for two cars is a big plus in Whitby too. 100% recommend.

It was like home from home and an excellent location for exploring Whitby. The parking was essential for us and right outside the property. Great communication from the hosts.

Location excellent, grateful of driveway for parking as this could have been a challenge due to lack of on street parking space availability. Comfortable and clean, nice decor, relaxing environment.

Quality of kitchen and toilet roll poor. There was just enough crockery and cutlery for 4 people which meant that it wasn’t possible to use the dishwasher as the crockery was required for the next meal. No pan scrubber provided. Some salt and pepper would have been appreciated but it would be useful to inform that this wasn’t provided before we arrived so we could have brought are own.
