Belvilla Newport City Centre Hotel - Lifestyle

Arrived to stay and the place was shut down!!!! Booking.com seemingly unaware it had closed down...there customer service was useless. The hotel website was still giving availability. We thankfully managed to book a far better hotel 5 mins away for the same price. The owners of hotel should be utterly ashamed of themselves and booking.com seriously need to up their game!!!!

Booked this months ago only to arrive to find closed down ! Absolutely no contact from the company or Expedia about the closure,

We arrived to find it had closed, with no notification at all from Expedia. Was still even showing on the website.

DONT BOOK AS THIS HOTEL HAS SHUT DOWN BUT HOTELS COM WONT TELL YOU, YOU ONLY FIND OUT WHEN YOU ARRIVE AND THEN HOTELS.COM DO NOTHING TO HELP YOU AND LEAVE YOU STRANDED WITHOUT ANYWHERE TO STAY AFTER SPENDING 3 HOURS ON THE PHONE TO THEM -UTTERLEY USELESS CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!!!!!!

Booked this hotel in April for sons graduation in July. Only discovered day before setting off it was closed (thanks to other reviews) this hotel was also know as the black iris Newport, no trace on the web, wife phoned and spoke to "staff' who confirmed it was shut and closed in February!! Nice one booking.com perhaps remove it from your site!

AS WE DID NOT ACTUALLY STAY IN THE HOTEL, DUE TO THEM CLOSING THEIR DOORS APPROXIMATELY 2 WEEKS BEFORE OUR STAY, WITH NO NOTIFICATIONS WHATSOEVER. I CANNOT TRUTHFULLY ANSWER THE QUESTIONS. IT WAS BOOKED VIA "BOOKING.COM" (Who werent interested in my complaint") This was 11th June, PINK was in Cardiff, i know from the amount of folk waiting outside the hotel, we were not alone. At this point, the hotel were still advertising on Booking.Com. my advice? - AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!

I booked this hotel last year but arrived to find the hotel closed, with the phone not being answered and no sign of it having been open recently. I had booked through Booking.com and they cancelled my booking without charge. They offered to find me other accommodation options but I had already found another hotel. So my learned lesson is to check before setting out that things haven't changed!!

**THIS HOTEL HAS CLOSED DOWN 2 WEEKS AGO*** WE HAD NO EMAIL OR CONTACT FROM HOTEL OR HOTELS.COM. Turned up (several other couples also there in same situation) to find the Hotel empty/shut. No answer on phone, not even a note on the door. We had to rely on nearby Travel Lodge staff who were super helpful to inform us. Pink was playing at Cardiff Prinicipality, so we knew area was Sold out. V v lucky to get a cancellation at another hotel (but at hugely inflated price).
