"Great Nature Experience !"

10.0

First and foremost the staff made the property enjoyable very friendly and welcoming. The property is very relaxing for a stress free experience. I now want to travel to all the properties with my wife.

Everything was enjoyable. Wish there were more activities.

During our stay, there were not enough staff to provide the level of service promised. It often happened that only one person was simultaneously at the reception, handling check-ins, and at the bar, taking orders for drinks and food, thereby creating a line. At breakfast time, they ran out of a variety of granola and plates, so we had to eat from cups. There was no hot milk or other option to warm it up. Also, the bikes were broken, and we were promised they would be replaced soon. We stayed for 3 nights, but it didn’t happen, so we were upset. We really counted on those bikes. Overall, it was a brilliant place, but the service and organization could be improved to better match the stated price.

"So disappointing."

2.0

I was absolutely stunned that a place where every single unit has a fire pit ran out of firewood. Also, that they RAN OUT OF FOOD and were unable to provide dinner at the kitchen. The guy at the counter who told us that dinner was not available recommended a place nearby that was closed when we got there. If this is a common occurrence, maybe have a list with times handy. The staff to guest ratio was completely inadequate such that only one person was available during breakfast, so getting a muffin was a disorganized and time-consuming ordeal. Sure, holiday weekend - but did they not know how many reservations they had so that they would be adequately staffed and supplied? I don't know what I was expecting, but this wasn't it. I was embarrassed that I brought my friend here, and we certainly won't be back. The one bright spot was the great maintenance guy who opened our stuck windows. Tall, efficient - I wish I'd gotten his name.

AutoCamp is a great glamping spot—stylish Airstreams, tents, and cabins with comfy beds and modern touches. I loved the clubhouse, fire pits, and extras like yoga, movie nights, and live music. The location made it easy to enjoy nature, with complimentary coffee and tea included. My only downside was that it felt a bit pricey for what was offered.

"Exceeded expectations!"

10.0

Absolutely loved my time at Autocamp in the Catskills! For starters, it was an easy drive and easy to find. The grounds are nice. Loved the walking trail and the communal fire pit. The lobby was great and I liked the little bar. We stayed in a family cabin and I thought it was perfect. We utilize the kitchen and the outdoor fire pit. I thought that the staff year was absolutely wonderful.! Nicole help me with the reservation and Mark help my family with the fire. Colin even brought tea to our cabin when my nephew was sick. What a wonderful staff-everyone was just so kind and helpful. I thought the whole experience was fantastic and I definitely would like to come back! We also took advantage of going to the lavender farm nearby and did the hike at the reservoir. Spectacular.! Thank you Autocamp Catskills for an awesome way to end the summer!

"A great concept but an unpleasant experience."

5.0

Very beautiful setting in the woods. Bed very comfortable.

Tent wasn’t ready at check-in time. We had to wait 30 min. Staff at reception were not apologetic. Fan, lantern and zippers on tent were broken and should be replaced. Seemed dirty.

"Designed for social media, not comfort or experience"

6.0

TL;DR We stayed in a family cabin for 6 nights in mid-Aug 2025 with a 2 yr & 5 yr old. I'd stay there again but bring more groceries to make it comfortable and for a shorter time; a long weekend is plenty. Pros: • Close to Woodstock for shops and restaurants. • Grocery stores 10 mins away. Price Chopper for normal shop, Sunflower Market for expensive organic stuff. • We enjoyed eating outside and BBQing, S'mores etc. • Cabins were like 'tiny houses'; warm & cozy. AC worked well on hot days. • Full size fridge in kitchen. • No noise from campsite at night. • Staff were nice. • Check local attractions; the Duchess County Fair was on while we were there and that was epic! Tips: • Bring groceries with you - at least for the first 24 hrs. Including drinking water. They say the water in the cabins was OK to drink but it smelled strange and my kids wouldn't drink it. There is a filtered water station in the 24 hr club house. • Bring a couple of extra bath towels. • Cabins have minimal kitchen equipment; 4 x plates. 1 x small saucepan. I ended up buying a cheap saucepan to make it a little easier to cook for a family of 4. There is no toaster. • I was glad I brought a teatowel, bounty, garbage bags, our own mugs that were larger than a thimble. • No room for bulky luggage or anywhere to unpack. I did 'Poor man's packing' ™️ (Fresh Direct bags with packing cells) which worked out great as no big suitcases to take up space • Bears! We saw a large black bear while on the 1 mile loop hiking trail around the campsite. Exciting - but be aware for kids. • I wish I'd brought slippers for inside cabin. But maybe I am just old. 🤷🏼‍♀️ Cons / PSAs • Check opening times of local attractions & restaurants. A lot of local attractions are closed Mon - Wed. (A rainy Wed with nothing to do nearly broke this fam'). • Sirens - Autocamp is across the street from the volunteer fire fighters (god bless them). This means there is an air raid type siren and you will hear the real sirens including at 2am. We didn't hear them every night just the first 2 days. Wish Autocamp would have mentioned that to avoid 2am panic. • You cannot drive to the cabins so have to take little hand pull carts for luggage. Another reason to pack light. • Breakfast is very basic (literally just coffee and granola - anything else you need to pay for) and some days packed away a little early. • There's no housekeeping of the cabins mid stay. Though you can ask for anything you need. • They 'general store' on-site is mostly a tiny AutoCamp merch shop with a fridge of ice cream and beer. No real food. Feel like that's a bit misleading on the website. • 'General store ' was sold out of firewood for most of our week long stay and s'mores kits for the entire time. Come on guys; s'mores is 15% of the reason we're all here. • The website makes this look like there's activities put on every day. That was not our experience. • This is a dog friendly resort which is fine but that means seats in the common areas / club house are covered in dog hair. • Given how many kids are running around I felt like the staff golf carts zoom around the property too fast. Generally it felt like Autocamp was doing the absolute minimum for the money. Like an MBA exec team / consultancy has worked out 1) how to lure folks in with a website promising Instagram worthy experiences and 2) exactly what they can get away with delivering for the money and not a an extra kitchen plate more. Yes the Airstreams look cool. But worry a little less about built in cabin bluetooth speakers and give me a freaking toaster. Overall I would give Autocamp Catskills 3/5. Although its location is doing a lot of heavy lifting in this score. Its close enough to NYC to be a good option for city stickers like me with young kids. Its a good location for exploring the Hudson Valley. And as long as you go expecting it to be camping I guess its OK. If you go expecting cabin = a hotel you'll be disappointed. I think we stayed too long. A long weekend is plenty. We stayed 6 nights. I also think going with a large family group/ couple of families would be great to let the kids be a bit more free range (although; bears).
