"Would stay here again!"

8.0

Right on the beach where you can just walk in the water to snorkel or dive. On-site dive shop for renting equipment or scheduling dives. Rental cars/trucks available on site. Decent food at the restaurants that were not too expensive compared to other restaurant prices in Bonaire. Nice mini kitchen that seemed well equipped. We didn't actually cook but toasted bagels for quick breakfasts and had cold, iced drinks for the day. Paid for a garden room and ended up with a room with an excellent view.

Minor issues with the room when we checked in. Aircon wasn't working and it turned out to be a problem with the water heater so we could have one or the other. We chose the aircon and they were able to fix the water heater the next day.

"Just returned from an incredible trip to Chogogo Bonaire!"

10.0

Just returned from the best trip to Chogogo Bonaire with my husband (we are in our early 40s). This hotel has everything you need and more! We rented a truck directly from the hotel which was awesome for exploring the island. We spent a day driving through the national park in the north which was great! The donkey sanctuary and lunch at Sebastian’s on Sorobon beach was also a fun way to spend the afternoon. If you have time drive around the south to see the salt pans. We didn’t book a dive and stay package but after booking the room, decided to get our open water dive certifications and booked directly with Scuba Do. Scuba Do is right at Chogogo and diving was the highlight of our trip. I loved that the confined dives were done in the swallow part of the ocean and not a pool. Our room to the dive shop was a 2 minute walk. Whether we went out exploring in the truck or diving the Bari Reef out front, we always seemed to end up taking a spin or two around the lazy river. Our room had an ocean view and everything we needed! The faucet water didn’t get particularly cold so having a water jug to fill and chill in the fridge was awesome. We brought espresso pods for the Nespresso machine and enjoy lattes in our room each morning. You can easily buy these at the grocery store on island too. The drying rack on the balcony dried out swimsuits in no time! We enjoyed watching sunset every night on the balcony. I also loved looking for sea glass on the beach, there is a ton! I did request a blanket, which was in our room when we arrived. I was concerned about having a flat sheet only because I am used to the weight of a blanket (we experienced this in Barbados and I didn’t love it). I ended up vacuum bagging a blanket from home and would absolutely do that again. This resort has everything you need and more, highly recommend! Tip- we went to Italian night (Sundays) at Sebastian’s and sat on the pier (make a reservation) would absolutely do this again! Also- Sushi Express is an unsuspecting restaurant, off the beaten path but the tempura sushi was incredible!

"Clean, Safe, Comfortable Beach Resort with Accessible Snorkeling and Nearby Shopping"

10.0

I didn't want to worry about my stuff being stolen from some AirBnB while I was out exploring. I also wanted to be as close to the ocean as possible so I could maximise my snorkeling time. I needed a place with good kitchen facilities so I could prep my own food if necessary. Chogogo Bonaire checked all the boxes for me. Communication with the resort was easy through Booking.com and their own emails. I was met by warm and friendly staff who had me checked in very quickly and pointed me in the direction of my room. I asked for an upper floor room beach view room and a microwave and got both. The room was clean with a large comfortable bed and a clean bathroom. I was pleasantly surprised at the number of hooks or bars inside the bathroom where I could hang wet stuff to dry. There were never enough of these in any hotel I'd been to before. The room also has its own mini boiler, which means that my water was always hot for a shower when I needed it. The kitchenette in the room was FULLY equipped with literally everything you would need during your stay, including cutlery, plates, cups, induction stove top, pots and pans, kettle, toaster, and the largest in-room fridge I've ever seen at a hotel or resort. Everything looked new and clean. I was also happy to see that the kitchen had its own sink. The sink came in very handy for soaking my underwater camera set up after each snorkel trip. There was also a hair dryer in the room and a clothes drying rack outside on the patio. The lazy river was awesome! The service at the beach bar was fast and the food was great! The snorkeling right in front of the hotel was better than some of the guided tours I went on. The garden paths were great for evening walks. I never had an issue finding an available beach chair even during peak hours. There are also great food options and decent shopping at the park and the two shopping areas a few minutes walk away. I will definitely stay here again on my next visit to Bonaire! A few points to note: Laundry facility was unavailable while I was there. Check on this before you arrive. Thanks fully I had my own laundry detergent. All the sockets in the rooms are Type E (european 220v). Travel with a step down converter/travel adapter. The cleaning every 3 days isn't terrible unless you accumulate a lot of trash in your room. They provide two bath towels and two beach towels that you can exchange for clean ones every day at reception.

The hotel advertised that they had a self service guest laundry facility, but unfortunately, while I was there, the machines were broken without the possibility of being fixed anytime soon. This meant lots of hand washing during my stay and waiting for stuff to dry. There was supposedly a laundromat somewhere nearby but the staff member who told me about it couldn't quite remember where it was. They only cleaned the room every third day and each room is equipped with a broom and dustpan so you can clean up after yourself in between official cleanings. This isn't terrible, but maybe every other day would be better. If your room is near the beach bar area there's usually some kind of entertainment every night. This can be good if you like loud music every night but if you prefer a quieter, relaxing evening, then this can be annoying. I also wish there were more inflatable tubes available for the lazy river. My visit was during the school holiday time in the Netherlands and this meant lots of little kids running around, screaming and keeping the tubes for themselves in the pool for extended periods of time. A few more (maybe double) tubes available would be great. The electrical outlets are in the room are all European (type E). Thankfully, I had researched this before and traveled with 220 to 110 voltage converter/travel adapter so I could use my Type A 110 devices with no issue.

"Perfect day trip from our cruise ship"

10.0

We used the resort as a cruise excursion. We caught a cab from the port $20 for the first five people and $4 each after that. We got there about 830 and bought day passes. $25/ pp 12 and older $10 for children. Adult passes came with a $10 food/beverage credit. Children pass did not include the credit. They had more than enough chairs and umbrellas which are included in the admission. We got lunch which was excellent and very reasonably priced. The lazy river was fun for the kids, it is pretty slow moving but sped up a little when they turned on the small water slide. The beach is quite rocky but has good snorkeling. We rented snorkels from the dive shop. Lots of fish right in front of the dive shop. The pool is quite large and perfect for children. Very recommended for a fun relaxing and
