The Mercury

Stayed here for one night! The room was in dire need of an upgrade and can only be described as disgusting! It smelt of damp and was dirty! The bathroom was horrific! Video attached to show this. Hot water was only available between 8am and 10 am in the morning. Apparently, this has been decided by the manager because of the higher costs. This should really be stated on your website and not when you arrive as people need to get ready for evening events. Tea and coffee were available but we did not take the opportunity to sample this! Receptionist was pleasant on our arrival but obviously didn’t ask how our stay was, knowing what our answer would have been! Such a shame as good location off the motorway.

There was a 24hr shop next door.

I had low expectations due to the photos however at 65 per night I decided to take a chance. The standard was far lower than I could have imagined, to say the decor and furnishings are tired is a massive understatement, there was mould on the walls and no hot water. This all contributed to an uncomfortable stay, therefore at £65 this room is way overpriced. If you have it spend the extra 20 somewhere else. Lesson learnt!

Shocking

Great value for money and excellent staff! The team were welcoming from the minute we walked in the door, would definitely come back in the future. Entertainment provided and a garage and spa next door.

Veru basic. Comfortable bed

Only found out when I arrived, the hot water is only turned on 2 hours in the morning and 2 hours in the evening.

The bathroom was vergeten old

They had upgraded the rooms since the last time we stayed. There is plenty of tea and coffee. Clean towels and linen each day. Near relatives

That the hot water was on timer and that it was supposed to come on at 7.45am and it was only Lukewarm at 8.15am. This made getting out early harder if we needed a shower.
