"Not a good value"

Very bad care taker with poor manners Poor AC, very old house that squeaks a lot all night long. Need to take shoes off as you enter Cats and dogs roaming around the house Very uncomfortable stay

Without prior notice on booking or the hotel website, guests are required to remove their shoes. I explained to Carmen, whose family owns the hotel, that i have nerve damage that requires me to wear orthotics that my doctor had custom made. Without them, I suffer pain and the risk of falling. Carmen wouldn’t budge, offering me slippers that didn’t help. She obviously didn’t care about my comfort or safety, even as i had to walk up stairs to my third-floor room. I cared about not falling, and I imagine their insurance company would as well. She tried to mask her callousness with a patina of phony sweetness, which made the whole experience infuriating. I did not fall, fortunately, but the next morning i tried to suggest that in the future, they provide clean covers for shoes, as visitors and workmen on fancy yachts often wear. She interrupted me and simply said that’s not the hotel’s policy. What an unpleasant experience.

"A beautiful property but we were unable to relax because of the many house rules!"

Very comfy bed, beautiful quality sheets. Our room was lovely.

We were instructed to take our shoes off, no bare feet and told in no uncertain terms to be absolutely quiet as it was her home, making us feel as if we were intruding. Not how you want to feel when on holiday.
