Kailasam Home Stay

This has been the most memorable place I have been in Kerala! The rooms are New and Spacious They arranged each and every thing for us. They are very kind and hospitable. They arranged morning boat trips for us which was simply amazing! They gave us all the information need for exploring the island. They gave us bycycles to ride around the island. We also had a great time attending the Cooking class with Kala! She cooks amazing food and the taste is devine!! One for all the food lovers for sure! All in all a must visit!

My best experience in Kerala! Great place to stay to visit Munroe Island. Akhil and gus wife picked me up at the train station and he was so helpful to me to organise my trip. The whole family is so generous and loving and the food is delicious!

Nothing

Great hosts, super value for money. Food was awesome, Akhil and family go beyond expectations with their hospitality. They can arrange boat rides as well. The room was nice as well.

It was a little hot.

I was immediately made welcome and the family did everything to make my stay comfortable. I eat both breakfast and dinner in the family home. Dinner was great and so much of it ! (I was jokingly berated for not eating more 😄) The room/bathroom were both clean and spacious. A bicycle was made available for exploring the local area. Local activities ie boating were effortlessly arranged for me.

My only disappointment was due to building work to extend the Homestay it made my stay a little noisy and dusty. The work is due to be finished mid January. Also the room I stayed in unfortunately air con was not available.

Such a beautiful family who go over and above to look after you - from the amazing food, to lending us bikes, to driving us to the train station. A lovely night in Munroe Island.

I strongly believe that it’s the people we meet on trips that can make or break an experience. While looking for homestays, I read the reviews online and booked Akhil's place. And I am so so glad I chose Kailasam homestay. I loved talking to Aunty about everything around, and hearing all her stories. I loved her food and the warmth with which she served it each time. I think I have a newfound appreciation for Kerala food now. Akhil offering to pick me up from the station and staying awake early in the morning to drop me at the boating point for the boating because I didn't know the way- that was so unexpected. He didn’t have to do that, but he did. Things like these made my stay so special. Thank you so much. I had a really good time here and I headed back with a lot of memories. I will definitely come back here one day and bring more people with me. Your hospitality will stay with me forever. THANK YOU :)

In this place Kala and her family welcomes you with so much kindness that you will never want to leave this island. This little paradise surrounded by nature, is very well placed to get access to the backwaters. Kala also makes you discover the treasures of her garden and the taste of Kerala's kitchen. We've never known such experience like this. Enjoy you stay !
