BATAD CRISTINA'S Main Village INN & Restaurant

The host is super nice and cooks amazing food. The room has everything you need which is literally only 2 very comfortable beds. You do not need ac since it gets quite cold in the evening and you're staying in the middle of the village right next to all the rice terraces. Just in the middle of an amazing scenery. Would highly recommend it to anyone. Just know that getting there is quite a journey

The food was absolutely incredible (like truly we could have eaten there for every single meal), as was the location and the view. The shared balcony overlooks the terraces, which was a breathtaking view every single morning. The main village is farther away from the guided tours that overlook Batad, and was therefore a lot quieter and serene. The location really cannot be beat if you’re looking to wake up in a postcard every day. Cristina and her family were amazing, and the whole stay was exactly the getaway we were looking for. We will absolutely be back to this area, and will head straight for Cristina’s every time.

Only two small things- both are less negative things than just unexpected and would have been helpful to know. The first is that the hike in and out is not super easily accessible, which we would have known if we had done a bit more research on how much farther the main village actually is! We loved that it made the stay all the more serene and peaceful, the 30 minute hike was just unexpected! The second is just that there was no toilet paper and the bathroom including the toilet is always wet due to the shower. Again, just the nature of being in a remote place, just wish we would have known to bring our own.

The location was absolutely amazing! It was so great to be able to stay in the town in the middle of the rice terraces. Cristina and her family could not have been more accommodating and welcoming. From the food, to the tours, to coordinating with us ahead of time for transportation to their place; they were incredible. This place is a great value-very simple, but exactly what we were looking for! We are so grateful for Cristina and her family for being the best hosts and we highly recommend this location! We hope to come back sometime :)

Keep in mind that it is an extra charge for towels. We were running low on cash and didn't bring a towel, so we used some of our clothing to dry off. We also forgot to bring enough cash (our bad). Make sure to bring enough cash before you get here! There are a few places to get cash in the town of Banaue, but there is a large upcharge. Once you're in Batad, there is no place to get cash. Also, I thought I was prepared for the hike to the place. I was NOT. The trek is no joke, even for me, who I feel like is in relatively good shape. This is not a downside of the stay, but just a heads up! Start your training now!

The location it’s absolutely lovely! Although it’s a hike to get there (& mostly to get back), it’s absolutely worth it! Very unique to be surrounded by just rice fields!

I would advise to get a tour guide through the ‘tourism office’ of Batad (instead of the one the homestay offers), they will engage with you more & really give you a feeling of interest!
