Hotel Casa by the lake

The manager Mr.Santosh Soni , was very hospitable and very accommodative including the staff. The roof top restaurant was good.

The açess of the hotel and the tad small rooms. It's claustrophobic if one's stay for more than 3 nights. We avoided the room stay and spend most of the time outside. When checked the room rates for rest of the hotel bang opposite to the lake pichola, we could have got better hotel at this price. Overall stay was ok.

Cook was attentive and the tandoori cook did a champion job. We ate on the lower rooftop as not keen on the spiral staircase

Considering Santosh had more than 10 weeks to decide he didn't have 2 rooms with a "landmark" view I was very disappointed to get a room with a 2metre distance from someone's bathroom or a close up view of them noisily cooking the family dinner. I was offered an upgrade (for a fee) but declined and eventually got a slightly better room albeit with lights glaring all night! Not satisfactory treatment of guests. THE SIDE ENTRANCE IS A CERTAIN HEALTH AND SAFETY ISSUE AND BOTH ENTRANCES NEED SERIOUS ATTENTION.

Awesome location with an amazing view from the terrace, perfect for a drink or meal. The room was great and the bed was really comfortable. Santosh was very friendly and helpful and made sure my stay was as comfortable as it could be!

The food here was fantastic! The view was great and they have a projector to watch sports on the terrace at night. Location was perfect.

Location of the hotel is in the streets where auto or cab is not reachable and streets are not clean with foul smell. Also the size of property is very small. Initially while booking through app, breakfast was included and prices were inclusive of taxes but after confirmation everything changed.

Location is probably the only reason why one would book the hotel. The hotel images posted on the web is a facade, it looks nothing like it. Cost wise they charge a bomb and provide nothing in terms of facilities. Rooms are dirty, hotel is cramped. It’s basically an old building converted into a hotel due its proximity to City Palace. Food quality and taste are pathetic. Hotel service is poor. They do not have pick up service like other hotels in Udaipur, it’s also uphill, so can be a task reaching there. Staff is very rude. Totally not recommended.

Sound insulation should be improved. It is recommendable who book at this hotel bring earplugs with you. Until late night sounds from the rooptop(dragging chairs, etc) made me crazy.
