Slight drain smell in the bathroom

Stayed here for two nights (although had booked for four) in a king studio. For us the room was too small (which isn’t the fault of the hotel, it was recommended to me and I booked it without proper consideration). However, a couple of points re the room to consider… Unnecessary amount of furniture made it feel cramped (two v large armchairs in the bedroom area made it hard to navigate around the bed. There was no space to put anything so a small console would have been more useful instead of one of the chairs (and wouldn’t have blocked the mirror). The doors which divide the bedroom from the sofa area don’t stay closed (a simple bolt would fix this). Once the sofa bed is made up as a bed you have very limited space in there too. It was simply not big enough for 2 adults & 2 kids in my view. The carpets are very grubby looking up the stairs and in the room. You do basically walk straight in off the street so I can see how they can get that way, but professional cleaning might help. Or maybe a big mat at the bottom of the stairs in the foyer. The doors to the loos on the ground floor were very sticky and dirty throughout the stay. The staff were fine, but I wouldn’t have said they were super friendly. When I let them know we were leaving early (and foregoing the two nights I had paid for) there was zero interest in why which seemed strange. Alnmouth itself is beautiful, the beach was delightful and clean. We moved over to Alnwick for our last two nights and had a much more comfortable and welcoming stay in a hotel which was not much more expensive. I didn’t feel TWH was very good value for money for this reason, hence my rating.

Room very comfortable and well-appointed. Staff efficient and the usual great Northern charm and friendliness. Food was superb - everything cooked to perfection.

A couple of niggles not worth mentioning on here because we didn't complain, and I'm sure would have been sorted. Will let the owner know in private.

Perfect stay lovely staff

Lovely room, very comfortable bed and great breakfast. We didn’t eat dinner but the menu looked great.

Only 3 car parking spaces and quite hard to get parked nearby as it was a bank holiday.

An excellent hotel. The room was really well appointed and spotless. Very well maintained with excellent supplies. The food & service in the restaurant was brilliant too!

Lovely hotel on Alnmouth Main Street. Fabulous room, lovely staff and very good food. Only downside was the temperature in the room but I suspect that was the fault of the weather!!

Das Frühstück war außergewöhnlich. Das Personal war unglaublich aufmerksam. Man wurde beim Frühstück verwöhnt.

Das Zimmer war nur über eine steile Treppe zu erreichen. Mit Koffer etwas schwierig. Es gab nur 3 Parkplätze im Hof, die schwer zu erreichen waren. Insgesamt ist die Parkplatzsituation in Almouth im August wohl sehr angespannt.
