"It's ok"

Staff was really friendly, I like the fish pond they have is super cute and the restaurant decor brings you right back to the older days, you can imagine how it use to be and I really like that.

I didn't like that it wasn't very clean, the bathroom towel had little flying insects and that wasn't nice at all. They didn't have very much staff available at all. The lady at reception (bless her, she was really friendly) but she was doing the job of two people, in reception and serving breakfast. The breakfast isn't very nice, is quite poor quality for £15. The buffet service barely had anything available.

"Great value for money in this area."

Good breakfast with lots of choice. Full English, kippers, smoked haddock, omelette etc. The room was quite small but OK for us. The staff were great, friendly and helpful . This place is a very short drive from Bideford Town centre actually you could walk there quite easily. Very handy for our trip to Lundy and close to many other local attractions.

The courtyard view was a bit disappointing. The alarm went off at about 12 .15 on our last night, it was very loud and disturbing. The staff at breakfast were very apologetic but we didn't find out why.

lovely friendly staff who remembered us staying before. comfortable clean rooms fab location

walk in shower was badly designed water sprayed all over floor making it slippy. Water wasn't hot at all and had no option to make it hotter. Breakfast was very over priced for the quality of produce.

"Does a job, admire what once was grand but felt sad for a very tired property"

Location, staff especially restaurant, bed

Seems to be a once grand hotel has become difficult to maintain. Opted for hotel as it has a child's play area but found to be overgrown and covered in branches and bird poo and leaves fallen created a trip hazard. Also chose for pool but turned out to not be heated in May and was being cleaned when we arrived, shame.
